In the 6th minute, Casimiro Villanueva made a precise shot to the right of Chap Villajane. U21 Uruguay's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Alvaro Larroca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chap Villajane having to interfere. Edgardo Bauza lost his temper 10 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 12 played minutes U21 Dominican Republic got a freekick which was hit by Quique Jara. Luis Corrales took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manoel Fraile, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luis Corrales made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manoel Fraile in the 24th minute of play. Salomón Sosa kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. 28 minutes into the match, Gumaro Leturia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luis Corrales. U21 Dominican Republic's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gumaro Leturia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The audience was convinced that Manoel Fraile's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luis Corrales was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. U21 Dominican Republic's Luis Corrales played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manoel Fraile in the 45th minute of play. Quique Jara's late challenge caught a U21 Uruguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Quique Jara helped the player get up and apologised. U21 Dominican Republic's David Guajardo was substituted for Germán Herrera. A collision led to U21 Dominican Republic getting a freekick after 49 minutes play. Quique Jara hit a great ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marco Ruben to make the kick off. In the 56thth minute of the game Marco Ruben who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Uruguay's Chap Villajane was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Chap Villajane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Ruben in the 57th minute of play. In the 58th minute, Quique Jara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gumaro Leturia got a fine position in front of goal ttaking advantage of the opportunity to rumble in 1-2 in the right cross in the 60th match minute before Luis Corrales had time to react. The audience was convinced that Manoel Fraile's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luis Corrales was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. 66 minutes into the match, Manoel Fraile notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of U21 Dominican Republic's Luis Corrales. Luis Corrales was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some careless play in the U21 Dominican Republic defense, Manoel Fraile kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luis Corrales. The U21 Dominican Republic fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luis Corrales should have stopped the shot. Manoel Fraile recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Manoel Fraile who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 76thth minute tested the skills of Luis Corrales when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Luis Corrales was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Manoel Fraile showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-5 in the 79 minute of play. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Manoel Fraile put it in 1-6 from a short distance just to the right of Luis Corrales. Manoel Fraile could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Luis Corrales made a huge save. In the 87th match minute, U21 Dominican Republic was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustavo Peralta to maneuver through the defense. Manoel Fraile spun around in front of the goal 91 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of U21 Dominican Republic's goal. U21 Uruguay's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
