Flavien Bourse was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to U21 Luxembourg getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Pol Friedemann hit a great ball. Ernie Auerswald showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ken Kan in the 15th minute of the match. Theo Buckholz kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, U21 Luxembourg's goal looked a bit too open when Gilles Roge came free, but Ernie Auerswald reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd minute, U21 Luxembourg's Henry Hilgendorf seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Henry Hilgendorf the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of U21 Luxembourg protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Henry Hilgendorf had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 33 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for U21 Luxembourg! In the 35th minute there was a penalty for U21 France. Ken Kan stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ernie Auerswald. 1-1. Ernie Auerswald took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilles Roge, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

51 minutes into the game, Ken Kan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Ernie Auerswald was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Theo Buckholz came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the U21 Luxembourg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Theo Buckholz couldn't finish the play. When U21 Luxembourg's Theo Buckholz in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. U21 France's Ken Kan managed to work through U21 Luxembourg's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Ken Kan dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Thanks to some nice moves Jean-Cyrille Almeida could shoot a difficult shot in the 72nd minute, which Ernie Auerswald however easily saved by the left post. 73 minutes into the match, Jean-Cyrille Almeida notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of U21 Luxembourg's Ernie Auerswald. Ernie Auerswald was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. U21 France's Just Besançon was substituted for Ken Kan. In the 78th minute Gilles Roge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernie Auerswald saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ernie Auerswald made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Jean-Cyrille Almeida sent off a good shot on target. Timothy Juncker kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. U21 France's Flavien Bourse played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lazlo von Bassenheim in the 84th minute of play. Ernie Auerswald made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilles Roge in the 86th minute of play. In the 87th minute Just Besançon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernie Auerswald saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Just Besançon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, U21 France's Ernie Auerswald threw himself towards the right post 92 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Romaric Catalan, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 93 minutes into the match, U21 Luxembourg's goal looked a bit too open when Just Besançon came free, but Ernie Auerswald reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle sounded U21 France left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than U21 Luxembourg.
