With a little luck, U21 Bolivia's Mauricio Soria got control of the ball when Juan-Alfredo Villamor tried to sneak it across the goal line. U21 Bolivia's Mauricio Soria proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Bolivia from getting a goal against them. In the 9th minute Urritz Nestares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauricio Soria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. U21 Uruguay's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Juan-Alfredo Villamor in the 10th minute. The corner led to U21 Uruguay's Goizeder Infante getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Juan-Alfredo Villamor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Mauricio Soria tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mauricio Soria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Urritz Nestares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of U21 Bolivia booed when U21 Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruce Willis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute of the match Ximen Abeitia shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lazaro Carriedo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 27 minutes into the match, U21 Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Dolfo Abaunza came free, but Lazaro Carriedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Americo Coya was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 29 minutes into the match. Juan-Alfredo Villamor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Mauricio Soria made a huge save. In the 35th minute, Juan-Alfredo Villamor ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mauricio Soria was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. In the 38th minute, Juan-Alfredo Villamor reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mauricio Soria. The goal made the score 3-0. Juan-Alfredo Villamor struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Mauricio Soria didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Uruguay.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dolfo Abaunza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes U21 Bolivia got a freekick which was hit by Ximen Abeitia. After some careless play in the U21 Bolivia defense, Juan-Alfredo Villamor kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mauricio Soria. The U21 Bolivia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mauricio Soria should have stopped the shot. Mauricio Soria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan-Alfredo Villamor in the 59th minute of the match. Dolfo Abaunza kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. U21 Uruguay's Juan-Alfredo Villamor got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 68 minutes into the match, U21 Uruguay's goalkeeper Lazaro Carriedo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ximen Abeitia. After 69 played minutes U21 Bolivia got a freekick which was hit by Mario Abaurre. Thiago Vecino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Oriol Abadia's late challenge caught a U21 Uruguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oriol Abadia helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to U21 Bolivia getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Oriol Abadia hit a great ball. After having played for 77 minutes, Thiago Vecino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Uruguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thiago Vecino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, U21 Uruguay's Bruce Willis got a free kick in the 81st minute. 82 minutes into the match, U21 Uruguay's goalkeeper Lazaro Carriedo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lalo Abeijon. In the 84thth minute of the game Thiago Vecino who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Bolivia's Mauricio Soria was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 85 minutes into the match, U21 Bolivia's goal looked a bit too open when Thiago Vecino came free, but Mauricio Soria reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 86 minutes had been played when some careless play by U21 Bolivia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jorge Batlle was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Uruguay's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on U21 Uruguay's corner Jorge Batlle fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Mauricio Soria quite easily take care of the ball. In the 94th minute, Zarando Abecia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. U21 Uruguay walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
