I have had a player in training camp for 5 weeks. His training efficiency is quoted as 90%, with activity recorded for each of the 3 skills he is training in (he isnt maxed). He is due to finish camp tomorrow. He is training in speed, tackling and aerial. He went to camp with 4,2 and 2 balls in those skills respectively. He is only 22. He hasn't gained 1 ball in any skill. The rest of the players i sent all earned 3 balls each.
My team is new, only 6 weeks old.
Can anyone explain this to me?

chances are he had just gained a ball in each skill rotate him between each of the 3 skills and he will have that extra ball in no time.

Yeah, he improved alright. Just not enough to gain another ball in each.

that means you have a player with 3 partial balls which hell get in quick succession.
however, i assume this is a player who came with the team and i have to warn you that quite a few experienced managers recommend dumping most the original guys that come with a team. i got lucky and got a 9 ball keeper out of it but otherwise the whole team needed to go for me. they train slow, no doubt about it. id recommend keeping the few guys who will do you well in the immediate, and then replace those that are sold/fired with recent youth graduates folk are trying to unload.
id suggest dumping those original guys (but save your keeping prospects) when you can. good luck, were here if you need more help.
also, if youre interested in understanding the fundamental game mechanics:

fva is right, and I already follow his suggestion 2 seasons ago to dump all initial squad and play with youths+4 seniors, and now I have good stadium, stronger team for my div, and prospective youths, thanks to fva for it :). Initial team already there for long and when any new manager take over the team, all of the players age will down to about 20-24, but their performance in training like older players.
Training progress at TC also depend on age. For youth any 10 days training will always result a ball gain (except keeping). A 5 weeks TC equal to 3 x 10 days training (ussually split to 3 skills). But for aging players they will need more time to train even in TC.

I think the question we all should be asking, is why put a 22 year old into training camp with such poor stats?!

That's his choice ivory. He might be a lot better at other skills.

He is new, don't know much and will try everything out. We can help him giving directions.

@ coldfire
Exactly, as I side he may be a lot better in other skills.
When I said ' That's his choice ivory ', I meant, ' let him try new things by doing stuff ', not ' leave him alone, hope he gets worse '
Hope I wasn't misunderstood.
