line 2 barley playing!!! :(

Badge image
here are the minutes played by each line in my last game:

line 1: 20 minutes
line 2: 7 min.
line 3: 17 min.
line 4: 14 min.

If you havn't noticed, line 2 barely played, wich sucks since its way better than lines 3 and 4.

Is this normal?
Why did line 2 barely play?

thx 4 all help
;)

Maybe you have a player with low stamina in line 2?

I had a look on your last league game. Is your player nr. 20 K. Ă–sterlund playing in lines 1 AND 2? If so, line 2 will not be sent on ice so often, because it has at least 1 exhausted player. He was on ice for 26 minutes in total.

Furthermore, time on ice is always a bit random, since it's not predictable when a break (hence, a possibility to change lines) will occur. Maybe line 2 had simply the bad luck in this game.
You should check whether line 2 has low time on ice in multiple matches (then I would say it's a stamina problem) or whether it was only this single game (then I would say it's just a random result).

You're right, 9 stamina should be fine for 2 lines.
Is threre somebody with low stamina in line 2?

Looking at your shift counts, it looks like line 2 was given the chance to play, but never got the chance. Your in a low div playing inactive teams. If line 2 is one of your better lines, then it's actually pretty normal for them to get less ice time. As ms82 says, the lines switch on breaks unless the line has been on a VERY short time. If your line 2 gets a goal, a shot that the keeper hangs onto, generates a penalty or the opposition ends up icing the puck because your line is pressing then a break happens and they switch. If the other lines don't cause this to happen as much, then they will spend more time on the ice. For you this is complicated by the faxt that the teams you played only have 3 lines, so their players stamina affects how often they come out and thus how often your line comes out. And since two lines are the same, it works out that they will get fairly even numbers of shifts, which means your line 3 or 4 that matches the duplicated line will also get more than normal shifts. All that is further complicated by you having at least one player play on more than one line.

I wouldn't worry about it to much against the teams I saw in your match results (including my team). If you want to be sure about how the shifts are working, then challenge higher div teams with 4 full lines. That will give you a better idea of how each line works.

Maybe they were drinking too much of the barley juice before the game.
