Can someone explain this please?

What skills do players need to have for which positions? I am confused, how big does my stadium have to be for div2? These basic questions are all the questions I want to know as I cannot find a FAQ for MZ Hockey.

Center: Power, Skating, Quickness, Shooting, Checking, Stamina
Winger: Power, Skating, Quickness, Shooting, Stamina
Defender: Power, Skating, Quickness, Checking, Stamina

I didn't write the skills in a specific order, because this varies depending on who you ask. But most people agree that these are the main skills for each position.

For the stadium: it's exactly the same rules as in football.

This is in my opinion the best source for stadium planning.

Centers need Puck Control. That's how they win face offs. Wings and defensemen also need Puck Control, that's how they receive a pass or hold on to an intercepted pass from the opponent.

I didn't think Puck Control was really that important, my players seem to play ok without it. Your logic when it comes to Centres needing Puck Control is valid though.

That is also my experience, not just my logic.

from what ive seen, puck control isnt too important. puck control seems to create a circle around a player, the more pucks in puck control, the wider their circle is. this circle then is a guidline as to how far a player can reach to get the puck (like omarthesilk said). however, this to me is a 3rd tier skill, with power and shooting/checking (shooting = all offense, checking = defense/center) being 1st tier, 2nd tier being stamina and skating/quickness (skating = all offense, quickness = defense/center), 3rd tier being puck control/shooting*/checking* (puck control = all, shooting = defense, checking offense), and last 4th tier being skating**/quickness** (skating = defense, quickness = offense).
Obviously the lower number the tier means the more important it is and quicker you should get to training it. Also I wouldn't advise training youths in stamina, because they won't be needing those pucks until they are playing 1st or 2nd line anyway. I usually train stamina between the ages of 25-27, or until they reach 7 stamina pucks

* = skill is normally 1st tier, but if a position isnt listed to train that skill in the 1st tier, they now train it in 3rd tier.
** = skill is normally 2nd tier, but if a position isnt listed to train that skill in the 2nd tier, they now train it in 4th tier.
