Opponents tactic

Badge image
Like the substitutions, I think that it would be easier and more realistic to be able to change my tactic during the match in function of the opponent's tactic.

Before the match i choose different tactics, the one that starts and others, if he plays 3-4-3, my tactic will change to playing on wings.
Or if he plays wings, my defense will be with 5 players.

Everything will be done automatically of course.

Ri: Opponents tactic

I don't know how easy to implement this would be, but for sure it would be great. Maybe counting the opponent's player in each field sector would help?

I disagree- this would remove the whole exciting and strategic part of the game of guessing what tactic your opponent is going to play and how to counter it. You get it wrong something and others you get it right. This would further only disadvantage the managers who actually put the time into the game and should be rewarded for that

But what would happen if you both use this mechanic and be counter playing eachother every whistle (when you can make tactical changes).

"Before the match i choose different tactics, the one that starts and others, if he plays 3-4-3, my tactic will change to playing on wings.
Or if he plays wings, my defense will be with 5 players."

And the opponent would do the same. Opponent plays 5-man defense line I go from middle. Opponents defense changes into 3-man defense line my tactic changes into winger tactic. Opponent goes back to 5-man defense line my tactic goes back to going through middle. Infinite repeat or if there is limit it wouldn't change anything.

You can change your formation during the match already but not with this mentality you can assume if you are losing by 1-3 goals your opponents tactic is countering yours and make changes according to that. There is a rule Your team is : Losing (1-3), Winning (1-3), Drawing. Change Formation: Starting, Alt 1, Alt 2. If you are losing you can try to make comeback by changing short passing into winger tactic and vice versa.

With this there is also the possibility that your starting formation is actually better option but you just had bad luck with the opponent.

It's all about being more realistic.

Yup,a good point of view

There are always some improvements that can be made even if they are not like my idea.

I don't know if it would be good or bad, I'm in doubt.

Re: Opponents tactic

That suggestion will be more confused and harder to be program because must calculate players position to find opponent tactic, both will be made and I agree with what jere92 said

I made a suggestion and before.
Maybe "programmable" wise be easier (just some if statement more) if we had more choices about stats of the game, eg. shoots, interception.

emperorcy, that's what I was talking about: suppose you count the number of players in the 3 slices of the field, would that help? Is it even possible?

If both managers do the same and change their tactics, that's an infinite loop....

No, is not so easy to predict.
5 in a line (wings counter, mostly) is absolutely different with 3-2 defensive tactic (short counter) both teams had 5 defenders in different shape and believe me I see so different shapes in tactics.

darkline:
"an infinite loop..."
I had been in this case so many times in programming :). In the sim of managerzone will not be this scenario because the tactic will be changed every time when the balls go out. The problem is that every "five" minutes each tactic will change until the next break and so on as jere92 said.

My opinion is if you have in half-time 3 shots on target mostly opponent have a counter tactic. Or something else if you have a rule when is draw change the tactic from wingers one to short pass, but on that time you have determinate the match and you have 20 shoots will be a disaster.
I don't believe is so difficult to add some of the stats of match as options in-game rules.
