theloyalone bids goodbye

Finally, the time has come :( After 3 wonderful years here, I'll be leaving MZ at the end of this season. My leaving has nothing to do with MZ (just clarifying). It's just that my career will no more allow me the luxury of playing MZ (or indulging in any other leisure activity), and hence the reason for me having to leave. I'd have loved to stay for as long as possible, but sadly, that wasn't meant to be. And I'm not really sure I'll ever be able to play MZ again :( I'd just like to thank everyone here, for the wonderful moments and memories. I made some nice friends here, and learnt a lot from many other managers. It's been a great experience. The GA duties too were pretty much fun [sorry for the bans my dear cheaters, but ya'll deserved it ;)], and a good learning experience too :) All in all, it was a great time here. Of course, MZ needs improvement in some areas, but I'm sure the Crew and the XAs are working towards the same, and hopefully we'll see even more wonderful days ahead. Also, on this occasion, I'd like to organize [b]2 free Friendly Leagues[/b]. The first FL will be for my many friends in MZ. I'll only be inviting friends whom I've actually known during my time here, so please do not feel offended if you're not on the list. The second FL will be a first-come-first-serve FL. Which basically means, that the first 16 managers who want to join, and post the same in this thread, will be a part of the second FL. Also, the managers already playing in the first FL obviously can't play in this one. The second FL will be a first-come-first-serve FL. Which basically means, that the first 16 managers who want to join, and post the same in this thread, will be a part of the second FL. Also, the managers already playing in the first FL obviously can't play in this one.

You can think of this as my small token of appreciation for all of you, for making my time enjoyable here :)

Thanks a lot Mike :) Though I haven't really worked with you, it was always good and re-assuring to have your presence around :) Thanks for all the help and guidance :) All the very best in your RL too :) Thanks :) And haha, I'm not really a big cricket fan (unlike most of my countrymen), but yeah, the Aussies have been doing pretty well of late, especially Warner. But the current Indian side under Kohli is on a rampage too, so it will be a tough contest (whenever it happens) :) On the other hand, I heard you're a Man Utd fan ? Also, I'm not really joining a job, but thanks anyway ;) Thanks mate, and same to you :) If I'm alive by then 😂😂😂 Thanks, and I too do hope I can come back to MZ, though that looks close to impossible :( At the earliest, I may be back only after 15-20 years, and I can't even guarantee that. I'll be selling most of my guys before the season ends, and so I'll be forced to play with youths in the FL lol. So, I thought it'd be better if I don't play, and let you guys have a nice FL :)

lol. Actually, I'll be joining a Military Academy on 11 Jan 2020, will get commissioned as a Lieutenant in June 2021, and then spend my next few years in Kashmir or some war zone area. Of course, I'll have no time for MZ at all for all these years. After 10-15 years (and if I'm alive by then), I will still be busy, but you never know. Thank you man. But did you enlist for combat duties intentionally or you were drafted? If you have a choice why not take a desk job to prolong the inevitable? Just a thought.

Actually, neither did i 'enlist', neither was I drafted. Maybe you're talking about the US army recruiting system when you used those words, but it's somewhat different in India. I gave an all-India exam and cleared the written part of it. Then got a call for the 5-day SSB (Services Selection Board) Interview, which is a must for any Officer Entry into the Indian Armed Forcrs. Appeared for my SSB, got recommended (meaning cleared it), and even cleared my medicals. I'll now be joining on 11 Jan 2020. I'll be joining the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun (you can consider it somewhat like West Point in the US, if you know what it is). Will train for 1 and a half years, and will get commissioned as a Lieutenant in June 2021. Btw, I've already got a twin brother (yes, I have a twin :P) training there, and he'll become a Lieutenant in June 2020 (1 year senior to me, lol). Now, there are 2 types of commissions for officers - Short Service and Permanent Commission. Short Service requires around 10 years of service, after which you can choose to leave, if you wish to, and join a civil job. Permanent Commission means compulsory minimum 20 years of service before leaving the army, unless you are unable to serve due to medical injury etc. I'll be getting a PC, which basically means I can't leave for a minimum 20 years, unless some s**t happens to me lol. Which is why I said I don't see myself returning for the next 10-15 years. Though I will come to know about which arm (infantry, armoured corps, artillery, etc) I've gotten only in the last month of my training, I'm a hardcore Special Forces guy. So, no offense to you, but you can understand that I found your 'desk job' suggestion pretty offending -_- :P I know you said that with a good intention, but I'd rather quit than take up a desk job (again, no offense to guys doing desk jobs :P). Also, everyone dies. Some sooner, some later. But we all anyway die. What really matters to me is how we die, and what we leave behind. There is never a more glorious way to die than doing so for your country, that too on the battlefield :) And 15-20 years down the line, when I'll probably be a Colonel, I'll most probably anyway be forced into non-combat duties (you command men, but very rarely actually lead them into Ops). Well done to you Sir! I joined the British army on the 9th January 2000, served 8 years. Funny your joining 20 years later!

Joining the army in my younger years was a no for me because I was a wild child who didn't like authority much lol. But I'm sure if my country, Ghana, was to go to war I would have joined because I have the build and heart for a fight. And I absolutely meant no disrespect by the desk job comment just don't want to hear that you died in combat that would suck but I would respect that. Again I repeat you're a brave man with a lot of honour. Very rare to see these days. Well, I understand your reason. In fact, I too have always been a wild child, but one who wouldnt mind some authority (especially when I will be in the same position after some years :P). And it's enough that you're willing to serve when called upon to. We all have a duty towards our country, which we should fulfill when called upon to :) No worries, I never took it as disrespect ;) I know dying is always a sad thing, but for me, I'd always prefer to go down in glory (on the battlefield), than die due to some accident or disease [no offense at all to people who die in such circumstances :(]. And I'm sure most of us would always want to die doing something good, or having done something good :) But hopefully, I will not have to die ;) After all, I'm joining the army to kill enemies, not to die, eh ? ;) ;P Well, a soldier's true valor/bravery/grit is always seen on the battlefield :) I could write anything here, but what would really matter is the way I lead when I'm [b]actually[/b] out there :) So, only time will decide my bravery haha ! And your words kinda embarressed me :P I mean, you were too flattering lol :P Haha, and sorry I meant no offense :P It's just that not everyone should outside the US should know West Point. I knew some Americans who themselves didn't know about it ! I myself came to know about it only through google, but that was years ago :)

No worries, I never took it as disrespect ;)

Update on the FLs - Due to unavoidable circumstances, I will be playing in both the FLs. I did not want to, but I wasn't able to make an FL while keeping myself out of it :( Vis-a-vis the first FL, I've sent some additional invites, and taken back the invites of a few (since they haven't accepted it yet). This was done because I understand that some might be vacationing, and hence unavailable. But I want to start the FL before Tour deadline ends, and hence had to do that. The guys who couldnt take part in the first FL can always apply for the second one :) As for the second FL, I'm making one now, and sending invitations for the same (based on whoever has wished to play).
