Himna IHC vs Ivan Turina Stars

Badge image
Before this season, me and aikaik decided to once and for all to find out who can call himself the best Manager in the office. So on day 1 (of the current season 54), we both made a complete reset of our Hockey teams and started over from scratch.

The goal is (apart from having fun, of course) to find out who can get to division 1 first. We'll try to avoid discussing our strategies too much amongst ourselves to make sure we both make our own individual choices through our Hockey Manager careers. It'll be intriguing to see how we tackle (pun) the various challenges ahead. Already after just 9 days some trends are beginning to emerge.

We'll both post in this thread on regular occasion, so check back if you are interested in hos this epic battle continues.

Du to an influx of new players the club is now forced to say goodbye to Croatian center tank Tonko Debrecin. Once a first-line player, now on the market for scrap value. Such is the hard life of a pro hockey player. ;(

On a brighter note, the Club is now stronger than ever. Hoping for a final in the new Welcome Cup against our arch nemesis ITS so we can showcase our new signings. ;)

Tonko was overrated anyways... still surprised that he was still in your team. no wonder why I'm ahead of you in the ranks H

Ivan Turina Stars
Rank: 88

Himna IHC
Rank: 94

Looking forward to beat you in the final of our last Welcome Cup ;)

Well... *cough*... that might be a little difficult now.

Can't believe you snuck ahead of me in the ranking. It's a farce*.

Luckily, the division Cup will start in a couple of weeks.

Got 2 SEK for Tonko after spending 90 000 some weeks ago. This is an outrage!!

Thank you :) A bit unexpected and got a little lucky in the final. But things seem to be going well for me right now.

That was the last Welcome cup, I have a hunch trophies will be a little harder to come by from here on in... All my focus is on the league now.

Up against the Stars later tonight in the division cup!

http://www.managerzone.com/?p=match&sub=result&tid=50487&mid=140603505

Should be a decent test for us. Expecting something in the region of 5-1 though.

Edit: lol, nevermind. It was another team. All these Aik clones...

There we go... http://www.managerzone.com/?p=match&sub=result&tid=50487&mid=140603511

A 5-2 win. Not far from my prediction of 5-1.

We're continuing to build and improve. Last wee we strengthened with three new players and I believe our most recent signing Lourenço Trindade is our best one yet.

Would be incredible if we can go on to win the division cup too, that would be our third title so far this season. Many matches to go though.

Great player!!! It's just sad to see you belong to the same season as me (and you created your team on day 1 of S54:$)

Re: Himna IHC vs Ivan Turina Stars

A little update since we haven't had one in a while. The league season clearly went in favor of my Himna boys, with the second meeting against the Stars finished in an earthquake-like victory for us, 10-0 (which has gotten aik grumbling by his desk I assure you). We're now ready for the next season, already looking for replacements for our three retirees.

One huge game still to play though, the final of the Division Cup Season 54 (div 5) - where me and aik come face to face yet again! https://www.managerzone.com/?p=cup&sub=info&cid=10173. Certainly another gold medal wouldn't hurt.

Financially we are doing well, much better than I would have expected after making 23 player purchases so far this season, and we have some money in the kitty for further strengthening, should we need it. The Stadium is built to full capacity and should be ready for division 4. We'll continue to play with older players for a while, but within a couple of seasons we will start looking around for younger players (and spend a bit more for each player).

I am just now starting to get youth players up to the interesting Power pucks, with our very first 7 gained yesterday (a maxing unfortunately). This will be very interesting to follow next season!

A couple of weeks vacation later and the team is performing like a bunch of gardeners on ice. As of right now, psychologically it feels like powders guys are seasons ahead of mine and therefore I am not surprised if he wins today with 10-0 again.

I need to re-structure the team in many ways for next season. We are financially safe right now but as my patience aren't always the best, I would not be surprised if I wen't crazy on the transfer market, buying in one or two national players that still won't do the difference. Hopefully I can hold my fingers in sight and not make and stupid moves H

Youth wise the Ivan Turina Stars looks much brighter. We have had a couple of fallouts that were traded for new youths, and I believe we are slightly ahead of Himna HC.

To summerize: Although we have have entered a dead-end at the moment with our seniors, all we have to do is make some important changes and get back on the right track. The future looks bright, with many interesting Youths on the way.

Thank you for the good luck wishes!

We were able to almost get away with a trophy in the Division 5 Cup against powder, but after taking the lead three times in the game, the lad's were not able to keep it all the way to the end, and we eventually had to yield for our (temporary) superiors, Himna HC. I'm still satisfied with the guys performances, and will not be ashamed of the silver trophy.

Two new recruitments are on their way! Say hello to Nikolay and Nikolaj:

Those are some nice players you got there, though it remains to be seen whether you've overspent on the young lad. :)

Don't know about master hehe, but it's been a good season. :)

6M SEK means more or less 600K euros? If so, it's not so expensive. He's young and with 66 pucks, will be useful.. It's not a player to finish his career at the club but could play as defender or central (pity only 4 in quickness)

Re: Himna IHC vs Ivan Turina Stars

Thought that I've already replied to this post but the reply must have disappeared somehow.

6M SEK is a little bit over 600K Euro, and still feel that he was worth the money. My plan is to keep him for a while until he is one of the less good players in the club, and then hopefully sell him for about the same price.

And great victory over pow by the World League

If the pow falter, you will become better than him one day! Lol

I would like to make here only one correction:

When I said that pow is becoming master of planning,
In fact, I meant that he is the master of planning!
Maybe not just him but he and his team kkk

Thank you moby, it was a relief that the qualification went as planned!

Let's see what silly season has to offer and we'll might be able to challenge Himna in the upcoming season's cups! H

Re: Himna IHC vs Ivan Turina Stars

I just massively overpaid for a player by making the noob mistake of offering the amount in euros instead of in sek, paying 400.000 euro for a player who's only worth 40.000.

Budget busted. This just completely wrecked my pre-season. :(

happy and millionaire ..

But by the rules that purchase could be canceled !! or not??

Re: Himna IHC vs Ivan Turina Stars

No, I don't believe they can. I discovered it too late anyway, just before the deadline.

When I noticed I though, what moron made that kind of bid for this player? Oh... it was me. Yikes.

Re: Himna IHC vs Ivan Turina Stars

Failures, happen Pow!

Aikaik, this season you have one less worry,
Since the pow is in the key Div.4.22 and you in Div4.31 .

Good luck to you both!

Re: Himna IHC vs Ivan Turina Stars

An interesting detail is that aik is in the same division as a real MZ legend: muran! One of the initial coders behind the game. So now aik sure has a lot to live up to. :D

Re: Himna IHC vs Ivan Turina Stars

Badge image
The muran, although he was one of the developers of the game,
I do not think it's a cause of concern for aikaik,
Since his team is a bit inactive!

We'll know who's better in the beginning,
Since the game between them will happen in the second round!

We'll know who's better in the beginning,
Since the game between them will happen in the second round!

I'll risk the outcome of the game:

Iva 4 x 1 muran

Re: Himna IHC vs Ivan Turina Stars

Well, both were champions in their respective division and
next season will play in division 3 ..

and looking at the statistics below,
the team Ivan Turina, at least in goal balance
was, far superior to the Himna team ..

Let's see what will happen in Division 3 MZ

Oh, that's tight, but I'll think I'm ahead on the goal difference ;)

The league without HIMNA IHC have definitely not been the same and hopefully we can end up in the same division soon again... I need that for the activity :)

The squad have barley been touched this season and I have relied on almost the same players, but hopefully I can make some improvements for next season, and make the team even more competitive.

Re: Himna IHC vs Ivan Turina Stars

Next season will be interesting! Really looking forward to more competitive surroundings and am already preparing myself with a few player upgrades. I think next season might be the season we start upsetting a few teams near the top, even though it'll have to be in cups for now. :)

Not sure if me and aik has faced each other even once this season. He still hasn't beaten me in a single competitive match ;)

Re: Himna IHC vs Ivan Turina Stars

Badge image
It will not be this time ..
You(3.15) and Pow (3.22) are in different groups!

I believe that: only in the first division,
is that you have any chance of meeting him again!
Or in the Princelpal League, but this will only happen,
if any of you get there !!:P:PMZ

Haha, I saw that too (after my post, mind you). Congrats, you managed to mildly displease the mighty Himna dragon... Unfortunately for you, the dragon knocked you out of the group stage of that tournament and have now reached the final. I can live with that. H

Actually promotions are random draws now, so we could end up together already next season.

Yet, you have to present 'alternative facts' to seem superior... stop your lame excuses and prove to me that you are superior the upcoming season, instead of hushing losses against me ;)

Re: Himna IHC vs Ivan Turina Stars

in my opinion, Pow seems to have a little better planning ..
just look at your trophy page,
which we will see clearly.

important titles, conquered by Pow:

Division Cup Season 54 - Sweden Division 5

Division Cup Season 55 - Sweden Division 4

Welcome Cup 54-4

Welcome Cup 54-3

League Div5.48 Season: 54

League Div.4.22 Season: 55

important titles, conquered by aikaik:

League Div4.31 Season: 55

2° place in Division Cup Season 54 - Sweden Division 5

2° place in Welcome Cup 54-2

And what's even worse, aikaik:

Pow is currently the 136th in the world ranking

Already you aikaik, is the 303th with 2185 points ..
