An Ignored Red Card?

Badge image
Okay, I'm dropping my own team in it on this one.

In the U23 League, in the first round my Defender Eddy Flintoff received 2 Yellow Cards and was sent off in the 29th minute.

So this means that he's suspended for the next game right?

Imagine my surprise when I saw him playing my next opponents in that league.

Unless I'm missing something, my player just completely ignored his suspension. Surely this is some sort of glitch.

I believe the way it works for league games is:
2 yellow cards during a match player only leaves for the remainder of the current match.
The cards accumulate in league matches so if he receives another yellow card he will be suspended for the next match due to accumulation of 3 yellow cards.

Ah fair enough, I never really knew that.

Usually if a player of mine accumulated 2 Yellows I would automatically remove him from the tactics for the next game under the assumption that he wouldn't be featuring in the next game.

This was really the first time I hadn't remembered to alter my tactics after a seeing a sending off haha

You can find the rule regarding yellow/red cards in the manual under Squad.

Heh, similar thing with an injury my midfielder got last week in a League match. He still played the next day, with the injury, and he got injured again!

If it is a minor (orange) injury, player will not leave field.

If it is a serious (red) injury, player will be removed from the field, and not allowed to return until his injury has turn to orange, or been healed.

on a somewhat related note. I took down a player in the box on Sunday and it resulted in a free kick from about 3 yards inside my 18 yard box. they fired over the net so I got off free and clear. My 6 man wall must have looked pretty imposing from that distance.
