Your better off buying two copies of COD4 then getting ghost.

On a serious note, Battlefield is the way to go.

seeing as how reviews are solid so far, COD ghosts is a good purchase and good gameplay

How utterly disappointin eh!? ...IW look quite determined to kill the franchise completely - maybe its a ploy to force everyone onto their next-gen Titanfall?

Shockin maps (huge and corner filled,) insta-death, boring game modes (cranked got mind numbing quickly,) godly snipers requiring zero skill (a IW trademark,) broken spawns, cheap equipment, super slow gameplay (stock up on pro plus and red bulls to see through a match,) no motive to play objective, campers paradise ... the ... list .... goes ... on ZZZZZzzzzzzzz.

An RA spelling you're as your? Deary me...

Anyway. I'm so SICK of the end of the world b*** s***... It's everywhere, zombies, vampires, I'm sick of it! Bring it back to its roots. I hope the next developers will have the chance to appeal to someone who isn't a graphic chasing junkie who wants the latest modern warfare out. They're loosing hardcore gammers by the dozen, but gaining teens.

Not played Ghosts, but hear some pretty mixed reviews. Some people love it, some hate it.

Battlefield 4, despite having a few glitch and bug problems, has a solid campaign mode (despite being a little prone to crashing, though I guess it's the demand on the PS3 hardware as it's next gen really) with an exceptional sound track. Online is amazing with Levolution employed into every map, such as destroying a Dam or a sky scraper collapsing. Weapons are quite well balanced with the superior weapons either requiring higher skill levels or being very limited in ammo and a battle pick up only (i.e. picked up off the ground and can't be equipped in the menu's). People play the game properly (there's no such thing as a camper in BF4, the maps are simply too big, and a sniper is doing his job as it takes skill for long distance kills therefore not picking up easy kills). There are niggly bits to the game, like not being able to customise your classes and vehicles in the menu's, you have to be in a match to do so. But the fact that there are 5 map packs to come, each bigger and offer a lot more than what COD's do for a similar if not cheaper price, it's a better deal for your money.

BF Premium Vs COD Elite, there's just far superior a difference to what DICE offer compared to IW. £39.99 for Premium, all 5 DLC (each costing approx. £12.99 each), a battle pack every month with new knifes, camos and such, two weeks early access to each DLC, the list goes on.

And let's not forget the final and most crucial details, in COD, 6 a side matches, 9 at a push. In BF4, 12 a side matches on PS3 and 360, 32 a side (yes 64 players in one match) matches on PS4, Xbox One and PC. A vast choice of weapons, vehicles and massive matches. Emplaced weapons (such as launchers and .50 Cal machine guns), destruction 3.0 on Frostbite 3, almost every element on a map capable of being destroyed, including dams, sky scrapers and even an off shore wind farm which lets a destroyed aircraft carrier come crashing into the map. Changeable environments (one map starts off nice and sunny and calm with flat waters and progresses to lightning, heavy rain, massive waves and dark skies).

COD is very much a childs game now where as Battlefield 4 is for the skilled and for the mature. Do well in COD, you get tons of hate mail claiming you're a camper or a cheat. On Battlefield you get praised and congratulated and often added as a friend. When I brought the game at ASDA even the woman behind the counter made this point, that COD is for kids and Battlefield is for adults. When a customer service representative at ASDA says this, you know it's true! =P

Following my previous post, I've seen Ghosts up close on Xbox One at a friends house. I don't play Xbox, never owned one, I had a quick go and I owned, despite not liking the controller. The graphics are very good, but a lot stood out for me. So I'll compare it to BF4

Graphics -

I can't really compare graphics properly as I have BF4 on PS3 whilst I saw Ghosts on XBone. Graphically, Ghosts looks better, but I can only imagine it's due to next gen console. I read a review in a mag stating BF4 is graphically far better on new gen to old gen. On old gen, BF4's graphics are extremely good, but it's obvious it's quite toned down.

Game play - Seen game modes like TDM, S&D and domination on COD. I purely play Conquest on BF4, which is a vastly superior sized domination with vehicles. I've played Domination on BF4 so I'll compare. The maps are far better on BF4, the maps are well designed so that there are flanking points, choke points, cover and corners, but not to the point where it's just frustrating and places where campers can sit. The domination game play on BF4 also seems harder in terms it requires skill, when I play it I'm too used to large scale maps rather than medium and small scales, so engagement takes time to adjust to as there's a lot of enemies rather than the odd few here and there. All the game modes appear superior in BF4 to COD.

Weapons -

Weapons are harder to handle in BF4 to COD, recoil is far more realistic. I've seen my friend on COD using scoped weapons with high accuracy, use a scope on a weapon on BF4 on automatic fire and expect the weapon to lose track quickly. There are also a very large amount of weapons on BF4 to choose from, compared to COD. I think I counted 6 assault rifles on COD, BF4 came with 11 assault rifles, China rising added the L85A2 and Second Assault adds the F2000, making 13 assault rifles. Similar case with Carbines, PDW, Side arms, Sniper rifles, Designated Marksman Rifles, LMG's and Shotguns. I counted 32 weapons for me to yet unlock on BF4, if I recall the base game came with about 80 different weapons. Also, more attachments, some are just simple changes (i.e. there's 4 types of suppressors, American, Russian, Chinese and Flash) and the laser sights (Red, Green, Tri-Beam) but there's a large choice of other attachments. Each weapon can be customised 3 ways, sites (iron sites, close range sites such as Red Dot and Holographic, medium range such as ACOG with 4X zoom and long range such as Rifle score of 8X zoom and the Ballistic 40X zoom), Barrel (Suppressors are here, plus recoil adapting such as the heavy barrel which improves long range accuracy, muzzle brake which improves muzzle drift and more) and attachment (such as magnifier, laser, tactical lights and UGL rail to attach under barrel grenade launchers). All weapons, if available, have standard attached firing mode, full auto, burst or semi-auto. Shotguns can even have different ammunition, such as standard buck shot, flachette and frag rounds. Several different grenade types can be chosen and so forth.

There's a lot more, things like far superior maps, better soldier classes and customisation. I suppose it's down to personal taste but for myself, BF4 has far better adrenaline, game play and realism, especially destruction and levolution which has been a key factor for me jumping ship to BF3 from MW3. In fact, BF3 is a far superior game to COD Ghosts and there's a 2 year difference.

I'm not saying BF4 is perfect, having EA as the publisher DICE had to release it on time. It's still very buggy (though a few patches have come out and fixed or improved a lot), prone to crashing (operation locker is a bad map for it) and there's still some sound problems (such as at the beginning of matches, vehicles don't make much sound). However, BF3 had some similar problems and they fixed most of the problems pretty quickly.

Final note.

COD season pass - 4 DLC, I believe 5 maps each? £34.99

BF4 Premium - 5 DLC, 4 maps each with new weapons, vehicles and assignments. 12 months worth of Weekly content drop, such as a Gold battle pack with 5 items (can be weapon attachments, camo, etc) new knifes or camo purely for premium members, new dog tags, double XP events and 2 weeks early access to DLC. £39.99

£34.99 Vs £39.99, which holds higher value? For a fiver extra, for all the additional content BF4 Premium surely is better? And it's a game which has a 2 year life span compared to Ghosts which has 1 before Treyarch brings out theirs.

Play Counter Strike Global Offensive. It will be the best 15 bucks you'll ever spend.

I didn't even upgrade mines for a tenner when switching to next gen, and finally, have been able to move on from CoD after 5/6 years lol. I never thought it possible, but credit to Ghosts, its that bad. Not sure if I'll even bother buying this years late release, time will tell.

Now a fully converted BF player, I've actually been really enjoying a quick shot on the console again. Granted it took a while to get used to guns that aren't laser beams, slower character animations, team play, vehicles, etc, etc.. But all in all, after a good few hours notched up over the holidays, it's a quality game.

Unfortunately not without it's problems either, and soon to be fixed (I hope): lag spikes, losing connection to server, massive queues, no party system options and a few other glitches. It hurts to think if EA (or whoever it was,) just took their time and added a bit of polish to the game before release, they could well have been a CoD killer, but as things stand, they've missed a trick.

Tonner, you on PS4 or Xbone?

BF4 is a top quality game, but the problems you mentioned are there. Problem is, it's not Digital illusions CE (DICE) fault, when EA wants something released it gets' released. They wanted it out before COD to take on the competition, but unfortunately it meant a nearly finished game was released. It needed a couple more months for polishing. The release of China Rising was a bit of an anti-climax, the maps are great, but where are the Levolution events in them? (i.e. the collapsing sky scraper in siege of Shanghai, the change of weather, destruction of the windmill and the crashing of the boat in parcel storm, etc). The bomber in each map isn't anything special really either, 4 marked shots available with a long reload time, 95% of the time the targets have dispersed by the time the bombs strike. The return of the L85A2 and L96A1 were very welcome however, I do like to set my classes to British weapons, just need an LMG and a carbine/PDW now for the support and engineer classes.

Genuinely can not wait for second assault to be released for PS4, I absolutely loved Operation Metro on BF3, I also fully enjoyed Caspian Boarder as well. Operation Firestorm was always excellent for long distance sniping whilst Gulf of Oman was also an enjoyable map.

Anyone on PS4 feel free to add, matttombstone, on often and I have a microphone.
