U21 Uruguay's Diego Godín was substituted for Diego Godín. In the 74th minute, Mawetu Mbule hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fertus Redin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lindo Kerns's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. U21 South Africa's Lesego Madiya got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lesego Madiya in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fertus Redin saved U21 Uruguay from getting behind. The U21 Uruguay supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching U21 South Africa's performance. The match ended with a win for U21 South Africa.
