After 25 played minutes U21 Switzerland got a freekick which was hit by Ueli Eggenberger. Axel Barbey scored 2-1 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jean-Paul Otten, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Felipe Babst's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jean-Paul Otten firmly grabbed it by the left post. Artur Sanger charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Artur Sanger the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-2.

The wind increased when Mart Breinburg made the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Mart Breinburg kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Isaac Dubach. Isaac Dubach showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan de Vries in the 56th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the game, Felipe Babst cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-3.
