Spectators: 10300 (Terracing: 7725, Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) Theodor Görtz started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. The supporters of U21 Germany booed when U21 Ireland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Banan Callaghan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Christoph Porsche sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 10 minutes into the game, Bart Mis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Ireland's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Germany the free kick. After a rather tough play, U21 Ireland's Bart Mis got a free kick in the 10th minute. In the 13th minute, Sakis Wiesenberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17th match minute, U21 Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Slaven Zerbe to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lewis Cassin in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Waldo Klein saved U21 Germany from getting behind. Waldo Klein stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lewis Cassin's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Christoph Porsche kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ailill John. That made the score 1-0 in the 26 minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, U21 Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Lewis Cassin came free, but Waldo Klein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Waldo Klein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lewis Cassin, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. 36 minutes into the game, Christoph Porsche cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Ailill John was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lewis Cassin in the 40th minute of play forced U21 Germany's goalkeeper Waldo Klein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 43 played minutes U21 Ireland got a freekick which was hit by Banan Callaghan.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lewis Cassin to strike the kick off in the second half. Ailill John showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Theodor Görtz in the 54th minute of the match. In the 55th minute of the match U21 Germany got a corner. U21 Ireland's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rigo Kneuer ran over to the corner to take the kick. When Theodor Görtz came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the U21 Germany fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Theodor Görtz couldn't finish the play. U21 Germany's Fabrizio Guse was substituted for Rigo Kneuer. After a defensive mix-up in U21 Ireland's zone, Fabrizio Guse stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ailill John came out of the goal and Fabrizio Guse tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. U21 Ireland made a substitution. Danann McStephen replaced Artt Crowe. In the 68th minute, Theodor Görtz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Waldo Klein took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bearnad McDecland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 72 minutes into the game, one of U21 Germany:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Dawayne Coyle walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. With an all-out effort, U21 Ireland's Waldo Klein threw himself towards the right post 75 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dawayne Coyle, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 76 minutes had been played when some careless play by U21 Germany's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dawayne Coyle was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Ireland's players had a chance to rest. Slaven Zerbe kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Dawayne Coyle's shot from long distance in the 78th minute was not bad at all, but U21 Germany's Waldo Klein knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. Ailill John showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabrizio Guse, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. 82 minutes into the match, U21 Ireland's goal looked a bit too open when Bartolo Nadolski came free, but Ailill John reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 90 minutes into the match, U21 Germany's Theodor Görtz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ailill John narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bartolo Nadolski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 95 played minutes U21 Germany got a freekick which was hit by Achim Raabe. Fabrizio Guse scored 3-0 in the 98th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ailill John, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
