But to his dismay, Matthias Nyström quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 15 minutes into the match, Stig Apelkvist notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of U21 Uruguay's Bixintxo Blanquel. Bixintxo Blanquel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Bixintxo Blanquel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zlatan Svensk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 19 minutes into the match, U21 Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Matthias Nyström came free, but Bixintxo Blanquel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bixintxo Blanquel didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when U21 Sweden's Zlatan Svensk shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-4 in the ordered_time% minute. After a defensive mix-up in U21 Uruguay's zone, Sten Lustig stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bixintxo Blanquel came out of the goal and Sten Lustig tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 44th minute, Matthias Nyström left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Sweden fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. With a little luck, U21 Sweden's Staffan Nykvist got control of the ball when Firmo Bosch tried to sneak it across the goal line. Staffan Nykvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franky Edgar, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. In the 48th minute, Franky Edgar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Uruguay fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-7. After the first half U21 Sweden were leading 1-7. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Sten Lustig made the kick off in the second half. Meendez Millan hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. U21 Uruguay's Bixintxo Blanquel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zlatan Svensk in the 54th minute of play. After 56 played minutes U21 Sweden got a freekick which was hit by Jarl Stensson. Bixintxo Blanquel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sten Lustig in the 59th minute. In the 60th minute, Roger Petersson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 64 minutes into the match, U21 Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Sten Lustig came free, but Bixintxo Blanquel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 64 minutes, Meder Ubiña mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Uruguay and the U21 Sweden players grew even worse after the yellow card. Bixintxo Blanquel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sten Lustig in the 81st minute of the match. 83 minutes into the match, U21 Uruguay's goalkeeper Bixintxo Blanquel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sten Lustig. Bixintxo Blanquel made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Matthias Nyström sent off a good shot on target. 85 minutes into the match, U21 Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Sten Lustig came free, but Bixintxo Blanquel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bixintxo Blanquel was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Sten Lustig showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-9 in the 87 minute of play. In the 89th match minute, U21 Sweden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roger Petersson to maneuver through the defense. Staffan Nykvist stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luiz Suarez's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. Zlatan Svensk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bixintxo Blanquel having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in U21 Uruguay fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 97th minute. Penalty! U21 Sweden's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
