Jeremy Walder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remco Feys having to interfere. In the 12th minute, Washington Gorena ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Remco Feys was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The supporters of Zegelsem booed when LFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kamiel Deflandre didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arthur De Baere during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Arthur De Baere kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. In the 30th minute Washington Gorena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remco Feys saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 31 played minutes Zegelsem got a freekick which was hit by Remie Van Den Brande. LFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeremy Walder was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Remco Feys breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 43rd minute Washington Gorena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remco Feys saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 43 played minutes Zegelsem got a freekick which was hit by Harrie Laremans. If Washington Gorena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 48 minutes into the match, LFC's Jeremy Walder sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Remco Feys narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After the first half LFC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Washington Gorena stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Washington Gorena took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Remco Feys to make any attempt to save it. After 56 played minutes, Zegelsem's Henri-Patrick Rix shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Olliver De Maerschalckx came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Zegelsem reached it. Peter-Jan van der Eycken's late challenge caught a Zegelsem's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Peter-Jan van der Eycken helped the player get up and apologised. After 61 played minutes Zegelsem got a freekick which was hit by Glen Saelens. Jeremy Walder's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Remco Feys read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. Jeremy Walder in the 70thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Remco Feys, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Washington Gorena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Remco Feys showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Washington Gorena in the 83rd minute of the match. Jeremy Walder struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Remco Feys didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LFC. Remco Feys made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Jeremy Walder sent off a good shot on target. Remco Feys showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Washington Gorena, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Arthur De Baere sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. LFC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
