In the 2nd match minute, U21 Paraguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ponciano Lebron to maneuver through the defense. Roris Taramona made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Evelio Mahabe sent off a good shot on target. Erwin Soto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 11 minutes into the match, U21 Paraguay's goal looked a bit too open when Hector Dragana came free, but Oliveiro Comacho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Sílvio Zárate in the 13th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by U21 Ecuador's Palacios Villarinos. Hector Dragana blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Oliveiro Comacho having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hector Dragana in the 14th minute of play forced U21 Paraguay's goalkeeper Oliveiro Comacho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 18 minutes into the match, U21 Ecuador's goalkeeper Roris Taramona had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Evelio Mahabe. After 21 played minutes U21 Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Danny Morea. Evelio Mahabe hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Erwin Soto hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Oliveiro Comacho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hector Dragana in the 30th minute of play. If Palacios Villarinos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 47 minutes of play, U21 Ecuador's Hector Dragana made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Oliveiro Comacho was left in no man's land by his defense there! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cai Inestrosa was the one to do the kick off. When Hector Dragana came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the U21 Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hector Dragana couldn't finish the play. Hector Dragana shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. U21 Ecuador's Omar Oruña was substituted for Hector Dragana. U21 Ecuador's Ximun Camudio was substituted for Palacios Villarinos. After some careless play in the U21 Paraguay defense, Omar Oruña kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oliveiro Comacho. The U21 Paraguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oliveiro Comacho should have stopped the shot. In the 67th minute, Omar Oruña made a precise shot to the right of Oliveiro Comacho. U21 Paraguay's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Oliveiro Comacho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Omar Oruña in the 70th minute of the match. In the 72nd minute, Javier Izquierdo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 74 minutes into the match, Omar Oruña notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of U21 Paraguay's Oliveiro Comacho. Oliveiro Comacho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. U21 Paraguay's defense didn't have a chance, in the 78th minute, when Omar Oruña scored to the left of an out of position Oliveiro Comacho, making the score, 0-5. Omar Oruña scored 0-6 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Oliveiro Comacho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 85 minutes into the match, U21 Paraguay's goal looked a bit too open when Omar Oruña came free, but Oliveiro Comacho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 88 minutes into the game, Erwin Soto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Paraguay's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Ecuador the free kick. Erwin Soto kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in U21 Paraguay's zone, Omar Oruña stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oliveiro Comacho came out of the goal and Omar Oruña tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 92nd minute, Omar Oruña got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Omar Oruña took a quick shot and it went in 0-7 without a chance for Oliveiro Comacho to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, U21 Paraguay's Cai Inestrosa got a free kick in the 99th minute. U21 Ecuador's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
