Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) Anwas Kenna started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 2 minutes into the game, Haikal Budiarto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Malaysia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Wales the free kick. The supporters of U21 Wales booed when U21 Malaysia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Haikal Budiarto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anwas Kenna might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Haikal Alexander. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anwas Kenna ran back to his position shaking his head. Haikal Alexander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tegvan Dowthwaite in the 7th minute of play. In the 8thth minute of the game Tegvan Dowthwaite who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Malaysia's Haikal Alexander was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 12 minutes into the match, U21 Malaysia's goal looked a bit too open when Peissawg Criddle came free, but Haikal Alexander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dewa Kooth kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in U21 Malaysia fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 23rd minute. Penalty! In the 25th minute there was a penalty for U21 Wales. Anwas Kenna stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Haikal Alexander. 0-1. Kenn Brabazon took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Haikal Alexander. Haikal Alexander dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 37 minutes into the game, U21 Wales's Tegvan Dowthwaite nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Haikal Alexander made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. 40 minutes into the match, U21 Malaysia's goal looked a bit too open when Tegvan Dowthwaite came free, but Haikal Alexander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute Tegvan Dowthwaite shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haikal Alexander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half U21 Wales were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dian Barus was the one to do the kick off. Peissawg Criddle succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-4 in the 51st playminute. In the 65th minute of the match, Anwas Kenna tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Haikal Alexander saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Calder Inge stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dian Barus's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Haikal Alexander was a little too slow when Tegvan Dowthwaite got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 75th minute. The score was now 0-5. U21 Wales made a substitution. Nynnyaw Eckles replaced Peissawg Criddle. The supporters of U21 Malaysia booed when U21 Wales was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iau Alvey didn't get a good kick on the ball. Haikal Alexander stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Casnar Erwin's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. After 95 played minutes U21 Wales got a freekick which was hit by Anwas Kenna. Fauzi Saleh took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 96th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Calder Inge. U21 Wales's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. U21 Wales played a much better game than U21 Malaysia and deserved their victory. The U21 Malaysia players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
