U21 Germany's Gerold Zollt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arsen Robakidze in the 12th minute of play. Gerold Zollt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arsen Robakidze, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute Arsen Robakidze shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerold Zollt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute Wigalf Banzmeier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roman Burduli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, U21 Georgia's Roman Burduli got control of the ball when Gianluca Balla tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Wigalf Banzmeier came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the U21 Germany fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wigalf Banzmeier couldn't finish the play. Roman Burduli didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Franz Nötzel went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 24 minutes into the match, U21 Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Khobuli Sulaberidze came free, but Gerold Zollt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wigalf Banzmeier in the 25th minute of play forced U21 Georgia's goalkeeper Roman Burduli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 27 minutes, Roman Burduli successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 34 minutes into the match, U21 Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Arsen Robakidze came free, but Gerold Zollt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, Arsen Robakidze had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gerold Zollt. U21 Germany's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arsen Robakidze was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Roman Burduli made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Wigalf Banzmeier sent off a good shot on target. Khobuli Sulaberidze recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wigalf Banzmeier was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, Stefan Caspers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to U21 Georgia getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Vladimir Gogava hit a great ball. Roman Burduli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karl-Heinz Granitza in the 57th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Wigalf Banzmeier managed to get in a good position for a shot. U21 Germany's supporters rose to their feet, but Wigalf Banzmeier was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roman Burduli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Karl-Heinz Granitza might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Roman Burduli. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Karl-Heinz Granitza ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 76th minute, Rudolf Speed hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roland Sagharadze recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, U21 Germany's Gerold Zollt got control of the ball when Arsen Robakidze tried to sneak it across the goal line. Roman Burduli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franz Nötzel, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. The supporters of U21 Georgia booed when U21 Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rudolf Speed didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the U21 Georgia defense, Gianluca Balla kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Roman Burduli. The U21 Georgia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Roman Burduli should have stopped the shot. For all the effort they put into the match, the U21 Georgia players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for U21 Germany.
