If Normunds Brencāns had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sven-Hendrik Kaldtwasser made an important save on a dangerous shot by Renāts Skipors in the 20th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Normunds Brencāns in the 21st minute of play forced U21 Austria's goalkeeper Sven-Hendrik Kaldtwasser to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sven-Hendrik Kaldtwasser made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Renāts Skipors sent off a good shot on target. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Normunds Brencāns to make the kick off. Sven-Hendrik Kaldtwasser showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renāts Skipors in the 52nd minute of the match. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ēriks Miluks prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 76 played minutes U21 Latvia got a freekick which was hit by Gatis Bluss. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Hendrik Heimann managed to get in a good position for a shot. U21 Austria's supporters rose to their feet, but Hendrik Heimann was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ēriks Miluks breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 80 minutes into the match, U21 Latvia's Ingars Dambis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sven-Hendrik Kaldtwasser narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ēriks Miluks prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Alarico Salzmann came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the U21 Austria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alarico Salzmann couldn't finish the play. Alarico Salzmann could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Ēriks Miluks made a huge save. In the 92nd match minute, U21 Austria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Axel Glasser to maneuver through the defense. Ovidiu Adrian hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. U21 Austria's Sven-Hendrik Kaldtwasser played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zigrīds Olencevics in the 94th minute of play. The U21 Austria players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented U21 Latvia from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
