After a rather tough play, U21 Singapore's Lee Ramachandran got a free kick in the 5th minute. Zavior Casaviella might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sajeev Chong. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zavior Casaviella ran back to his position shaking his head. U21 Ecuador's Arboleda Espinoso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Ecuador from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Mujahid Cheng kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Arboleda Espinoso. That made the score 1-0 in the 10 minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zavior Casaviella in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sajeev Chong prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 16th minute Zavior Casaviella shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sajeev Chong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arboleda Espinoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afiz Paine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by U21 Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Afiz Paine was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Singapore's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to U21 Singapore's Darren Chan getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Afiz Paine hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. When U21 Singapore's Mujahid Cheng in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye U21 Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. U21 Ecuador's Arboleda Espinoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afiz Paine in the 29th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in U21 Singapore's zone, Zavior Casaviella stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sajeev Chong came out of the goal and Zavior Casaviella tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arboleda Espinoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lee Ramachandran in the 36th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lee Ramachandran in the 41st minute of play forced U21 Ecuador's goalkeeper Arboleda Espinoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Armando Moreno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Sajeev Chong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lee Ramachandran was the one to do the kick off. U21 Ecuador's Eduard Guerrero was substituted for Zavior Casaviella. Arboleda Espinoso came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Singapore's Afiz Paine. But to his dismay, Afiz Paine quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. U21 Ecuador's attentive Salas Barea managed to snatch the ball when Jonathan Tioe made a throw-in in the 68th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, U21 Singapore's Afiz Paine got a free kick in the 74th minute. Mujahid Cheng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arboleda Espinoso having to interfere. U21 Ecuador's Lucas Bermudez was substituted for Fabrizio de la Rosa. U21 Ecuador's Espinola Junyent was substituted for Marques Tamaron. The audience was convinced that Lee Ramachandran's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arboleda Espinoso was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. The U21 Ecuador fans' excitement grew in the 86th match minute when U21 Ecuador's Eduard Guerrero looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Arboleda Espinoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lee Ramachandran, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Eduard Guerrero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Sajeev Chong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eduard Guerrero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 94 minutes into the match, U21 Ecuador's Eduard Guerrero sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sajeev Chong narrowly saved just below the crossbar. U21 Singapore walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
