With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cornelius Lewry in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Solustiano Partarroyo saved FC Saxon from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Boroondara Milan's Kane Muggleton got a free kick in the 41st minute. In the 45th minute Raymond Schonke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Solustiano Partarroyo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

FC Saxon's Solustiano Partarroyo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save FC Saxon from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sylwester Bejrut in the 73rd minute of play forced Boroondara Milan's goalkeeper Jacobs Fazey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
