As I said in the previous Zone this game would show if we will mean anything in this competition and it showed us ! Great game for Ireland. We won over the stronger rival and my words came true that we have a huge difference between our u21 team and seniors. Seniors can beat anyone if they have a good day and they did ! First game is always crucial, important opener which ended 2-1 for Ireland. 11-9 for us in the shots on target so not only the score but the statistics were on our side too ! Both teams played a similar tactic, great work done by our NC staff as we predicted French tactic but also used our one which worked.

First game wouldn't mean nothing if we would lose here. We won 3-1 against Serbia. Second game and second win in a row ! Very equal game if you look at the shots but Ireland was more accurate and even though the game was even we managed to win it 3-1. Important win which showed that our chances to leave the group are growing !  Until the 75th minute the game was unstable as we were only winning 2-1 and Serbia was pushing to score on 2-2 but Daniel McLian made everyone happy and lifted the score to 3-1 which gave us a break and we won this important match!

Before the tournament we all thought Georgia will be the easiest game in the group. Goergia did so well so far as they drew to Finland and Spain. So before the game we had to concentrate and prepare for this game as for the others, no-one gives you the points for free! Georgia gave us a very tough game but at the end Ireland was better and won it 3-2. We were the 1st time that won over Georgia in this group so far. It was a very emotional game, Ireland was winning 2-0 once more goals scored by our great Daniel McLain ! but then Georgia managed to score 2 goals and the 2-2 score was until the 86 minute when Diego Maradona scored it 3-2 for Ireland! Very important win as the battle for the play offs continues. Easiest game on paper but hardest on the football field !

I can't believe it ! Ireland won 4/4 games so far! It's great campaign. It reminds me the world cup in 2016 when our boys in green reached the quarter finals! But all happiness aside now.. We have to admit that luck was on our side here, and sim helped us a little! We have to be objective here. 25-6 in shots on target can make Spain really mad. Anyways 3 points goes to us and Ireland leads the table before the last game against Finland! We have the play offs guaranteed now. Happy days for boys in green. Who scored? who else would it be? Daniel McLain gave us the win again! He is on fire!

Before the last game we lead the table! France vs Spain will be a very interesting game, it will decide who will promote to the play offs!
