Seating: 236, VIP seats: 20) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Lee Ee got the match started through his kick off. In the 5th minute, Nicolas Nuñez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 7 minutes into the game, Faris Chee threw the ball into play from the sideline. Costa Rica's Bernie Rosabal quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 8th minute Arif Henderson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herberto Obando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 11 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's Claudio Cordero sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Azam Lee narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Amirul Keng had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Lee Ee's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Herberto Obando was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. In the 18th minute of the match Singapore got a corner. Costa Rica's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Lee Ee ran over to the corner to take the kick. 20 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Lee Ee came free, but Herberto Obando reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Singapore's Arif Henderson got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 24th minute Nicolas Nuñez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Azam Lee saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicolas Nuñez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Azam Lee having to make a save. Azam Lee stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claudio Cordero's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Herberto Obando took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lee Ee, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd minute, Claudio Cordero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lee Ee in the 34thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Herberto Obando, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Lee Ee scored 1-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Herberto Obando, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Nicolas Nuñez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Azam Lee having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Fidel Vanderlat hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Manuel Saenz was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Singapore's Iskandar Siang was substituted for Lee Ee.
The wind increased when Claudio Cordero made the kick off in the second half. Claudio Cordero who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Azam Lee when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After some careless play in the Singapore defense, Claudio Cordero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Azam Lee. The Singapore fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Azam Lee should have stopped the shot. After 60 minutes, Fidel Vanderlat mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Singapore players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fidel Vanderlat kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. After 62 played minutes, Singapore's Lee Lim shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Herberto Obando came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Singapore reached it. If Amirul Keng had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 69 minutes into the game, Faris Chee threw the ball into play from the sideline. Through an outstanding action, after 71 minutes, Azam Lee successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 73 minutes into the game, Dale Boon threw the ball into play from the sideline. With a little luck, Singapore's Azam Lee got control of the ball when Jorge Parra tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 77th minute, Jorge Parra reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Azam Lee. The goal made the score 1-3. Costa Rica's Herberto Obando played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iskandar Siang in the 81st minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Costa Rica's Jorge Parra slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Azam Lee. That made the score 1-4 after 90 minutes of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Jorge Parra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa Rica's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorge Parra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Azam Lee breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Costa Rica walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
