Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Demba Ba made the kick off which started today's match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 3rd minute of the game. One of U21 Austria:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of U21 Ecuador:s goal. If Viteri Mancobo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Washington Zucunza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Uğur Kaya in the 18th minute of the match. Uğur Kaya sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Washington Zucunza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Uğur Kaya, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. U21 Austria were awarded a corner in the 24th minute after U21 Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Pepe Pepe took the corner. The corner led U21 Austria's Pepe Pepe to fire away a dangerous shot which Washington Zucunza despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 30 minutes into the match, U21 Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Demba Ba came free, but Washington Zucunza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. U21 Austria's Pascal Klösters proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save U21 Austria from getting a goal against them. The supporters of U21 Ecuador booed when U21 Austria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Uğur Kaya didn't get a good kick on the ball. Washington Zucunza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Demba Ba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Demba Ba in the 35th minute of play forced U21 Ecuador's goalkeeper Washington Zucunza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Simon Derix fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored U21 Austria's protests and gave Simon Derix a yellow card for diving instead. Simon Derix kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Viteri Mancobo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pascal Klösters having to make a save. After 45 minutes, Daniel Gandara mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Ecuador and the U21 Austria players grew even worse after the yellow card. Daniel Gandara hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. U21 Ecuador's Washington Zucunza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Demba Ba in the 47th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
In the 52nd minute, Daniel Gandara made a precise shot to the right of Pascal Klösters. U21 Austria's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Uğur Kayas short, quick shot in the 56thth minute got Washington Zucunza to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 64 minutes into the match, Xavierlada Ocaña notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of U21 Austria's Pascal Klösters. Pascal Klösters was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a little luck, U21 Ecuador's Washington Zucunza got control of the ball when Demba Ba tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 70 minutes U21 Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Pepe Pepe who took care of the corner kick. Bernie Amaral kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. U21 Ecuador's Palacios Corroto was substituted for Esteban Cáceres. After a defensive mix-up in U21 Austria's zone, Daniel Gandara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pascal Klösters came out of the goal and Daniel Gandara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alejandro Alava sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 83 minutes into the match, Uğur Kaya had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Washington Zucunza. U21 Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Uğur Kaya was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. 87 minutes into the match, Alejandro Alava notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of U21 Austria's Pascal Klösters. Pascal Klösters was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, U21 Ecuador's Daniel Gandara got a free kick in the 90th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Gandara in the 95th minute of play forced U21 Austria's goalkeeper Pascal Klösters to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
