Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gilbert Birowo in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Azam Lee prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 13 minutes into the match, Indonesia's goal looked a bit too open when Sarb Namasivayam came free, but Romi Lisandri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lee Ee in the 16th minute of play forced Indonesia's goalkeeper Romi Lisandri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Azam Lee showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hadiman Habib, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After 29 minutes Indonesia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rifki Swee who took care of the corner kick. After having played for 30 minutes, Gilbert Birowo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Indonesia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilbert Birowo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gilbert Birowo kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 35thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Singapore's keeper Azam Lee was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. The audience was convinced that Lee Ee's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Romi Lisandri was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. Sarb Namasivayam struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Romi Lisandri didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Singapore. With a little luck, Singapore's Azam Lee got control of the ball when Gilbert Birowo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 45th minute Indonesia were awarded a corner. Andra Martadi went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Indonesia's Hadiman Habib to fire away a dangerous shot which Azam Lee despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lee Ee to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Lee Ee hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gilbert Birowo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Azam Lee read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hadiman Habib in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Azam Lee saved Singapore from getting behind. The goalkeeper, Romi Lisandri, was totally fooled by Singapore's Albert Ee, who 73 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Azam Lee made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilbert Birowo in the 78th minute of play. Haris Sutowo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
