Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Basílio Vilanova got the match started through his kick off. Amado Neiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaroslaw Dytrych, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 4th minute Poland were awarded a corner. Korneliusz Cizeski went to the cornerflag to take it. Korneliusz Cizeski made a great header on Poland's corner, it was just that Portugal's Amado Neiva managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 9th minute Gustaw Petrasz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amado Neiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute Fernando Nunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gigi Buffon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner ended in Basílio Vilanova almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Poland's Gigi Buffon did a great save. After 15 minutes Portugal's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Korneliusz Cizeski who took care of the corner kick. Gustaw Rawa made a great header on Poland's corner, it was just that Portugal's Amado Neiva managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 18th minute, Fernando Nunes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gigi Buffon was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After having played for 22 minutes, Gustaw Petrasz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Poland's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustaw Petrasz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Portugal defense, Gustaw Petrasz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amado Neiva. The Portugal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amado Neiva should have stopped the shot. In the 33rd minute, Gustaw Petrasz made a precise shot to the right of Amado Neiva. Portugal's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Gigi Buffon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernando Nunes in the 36th minute of the match. Gustaw Petrasz took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Amado Neiva. Amado Neiva dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. The audience was convinced that Fernando Nunes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gigi Buffon was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. In the 44th minute, Mauro Tassotti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Portugal reached it. Gustaw Petrasz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amado Neiva having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gustaw Petrasz was the one to do the kick off. After 53 played minutes Gustaw Petrasz rounded Portugal's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-4. Amado Neiva made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Gustaw Petrasz sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Basílio Vilanova in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gigi Buffon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Poland's Gustaw Petrasz in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Portugal's goalie prevented a goal. Vicente Portela replaced Manuel Quintas. Poland's Henryk Kasperczak was substituted for Aleksander Waselenczuk. Amado Neiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaw Petrasz in the 81st minute of the match. If Gustaw Petrasz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Amado Neiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaw Petrasz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Radomir Czerner was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 83rd minute. Poland's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Poland's Cyryl Wodaszak was substituted for Gustaw Petrasz. Amado Neiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cyryl Wodaszak, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. In the 89th minute Poland were awarded a corner. Jaroslaw Milko went to the cornerflag to take it. Gigi Buffon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celso Calado, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Gigi Buffon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Basílio Vilanova in the 93rd minute of the match. Poland were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Portugal's much stronger midfield.
