Seating: 236, VIP seats: 20) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. A.J. Dang started the match with the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nicholas Tan got free with Christian Paz in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 10 minutes into the match, Singapore's goal looked a bit too open when Saul Berrueta came free, but Victor Laycock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Christian Paz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicholas Tan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Singapore were awarded a corner in the 14th minute after Guatemala's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Nicholas Tan took the corner. An unexpectedly hard shot by Prime Yi-Sheng in the 17th minute of play forced Guatemala's goalkeeper Christian Paz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christian Paz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Clive Chian in the 24th minute. If Nicholas Tan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the match, Guatemala's goalkeeper Christian Paz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by A.J. Dang. With an all-out effort, Singapore's Christian Paz threw himself towards the right post 31 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Prime Yi-Sheng, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Julio Arango fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Laycock having to interfere. In the 46th minute Julio Arango shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Laycock saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julio Arango to make the kick off. In the 51st minute Nicholas Tan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Paz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nicholas Tan in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. In the 60th minute of the match Nicholas Tan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Christian Paz skillfully saved the ball. Guatemala's Cristian Garay was substituted for Nelson Ochoa. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicholas Tan in the 67th minute of play forced Guatemala's goalkeeper Christian Paz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christian Paz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Prime Yi-Sheng, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 72nd minute, Julio Arango ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Victor Laycock was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Singapore's Ali Tan was substituted for Jonathan Dyce. With an all-out effort, Guatemala's Victor Laycock threw himself towards the right post 78 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Julio Arango, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ulises Pérez got free with Victor Laycock in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Clive Chian's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Christian Paz was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. After 87 minutes Guatemala's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Nicholas Tan who took care of the corner kick. Clive Chian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Victor Laycock took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ulises Pérez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ulises Pérez in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Victor Laycock prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 93 minutes into the game, Singapore's Prime Yi-Sheng nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Christian Paz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. The Guatemala players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
