Ezequiel Leston recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Egypt's Safwat Ahmed got control of the ball when Ezequiel Leston tried to sneak it across the goal line. Egypt's Osama Shehab got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Afonso Sisquella showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aebeed Reda in the 92nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ezzat Ahmed in the 93rd minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Afonso Sisquella to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Egypt were awarded a corner in the 95th minute after Uruguay's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Aebeed Reda took the corner. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
