Spectators: 1028 (Terracing: 772, Seating: 236, VIP seats: 20) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Johan Lundqvist started the match with the kick off. When England's Basil Riley in the 3rd minute got a chance for a shot 3rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sweden's goalie prevented a goal. Stig Svensson made in the 5th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Bengt Svartström. With a little luck, Sweden's Ronny Lilja got control of the ball when Basil Riley tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johan Lundqvist in the 10th minute of play forced England's goalkeeper Jude Redwood-Turner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Johan Lundqvist's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jude Redwood-Turner was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Ronny Lilja made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basil Riley in the 17th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Sweden's Stig Svensson got a free kick in the 25th minute. England's Jude Redwood-Turner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jimmy Påk in the 33rd minute of play. In the 36th minute Bengt Svartström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jude Redwood-Turner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jude Redwood-Turner stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bengt Svartström's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Sweden's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Petter Sundström in the 40th minute. A nice corner shot did that Johan Lundqvist got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jude Redwood-Turner quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Ronny Lilja came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by England's Verne Wakefield. But to his dismay, Verne Wakefield quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Basil Riley to make the kick off. Ronny Lilja took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Verne Wakefield, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jude Redwood-Turner didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Johan Lundqvist went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Jude Redwood-Turner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Staffan Bivall in the 63rd minute of the match. In the 64th minute, Basil Riley ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ronny Lilja was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. England's William Sutton was substituted for Basil Riley. England made a substitution. Rory Rusk replaced Robert Beerman. 69 minutes into the match, Sweden's Johan Lundqvist sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jude Redwood-Turner narrowly saved just below the crossbar. England's Grzegorz Piechna was substituted for Stan Middlewood. 71 minutes had been played when some careless play by England's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Petter Sundström was slow to take the kick. During this time Sweden's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Bengt-Arne Brander almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but England's Jude Redwood-Turner did a great save. 74 minutes into the match, England's goal looked a bit too open when Johan Lundqvist came free, but Jude Redwood-Turner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner ended in Douglas Tillman almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but England's Jude Redwood-Turner did a great save. The corner led to Sweden's Stig Svensson getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. 88 minutes into the match, England's goalkeeper Jude Redwood-Turner had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bengt-Arne Brander. Jude Redwood-Turner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johan Lundqvist in the 91st minute of play. After some careless play in the Sweden defense, William Sutton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ronny Lilja. The Sweden fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ronny Lilja should have stopped the shot. A sloppy throw-in by Roger Valrot in the 96th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by England's Grzegorz Piechna. Allan Fitzgerald sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. For all the effort they put into the match, the Sweden players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for England.
