Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. In the 16th minute, William Rigg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Herb Good was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 21st minute Marty Driver shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herb Good saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 22nd match minute, Sport Lisboa e Benfica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barış Birsoy to maneuver through the defense. Herb Good took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from William Rigg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. James Novak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emilian Zgabei in the 28th minute of the match. The Sport Lisboa e Benfica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Herb Good should have stopped the shot. 83 minutes into the match, Sport Lisboa e Benfica's goal looked a bit too open when Ronnie Odell came free, but Herb Good reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sport Lisboa e Benfica made a substitution. Jean Britton replaced Emilian Zgabei. England were awarded a corner in the 86th minute after Sport Lisboa e Benfica's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ronnie Odell took the corner. The corner led England's Ronnie Odell to fire away a dangerous shot which Herb Good despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Rainier Steiner tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Herb Good. In the 95th minute, Paddy Woolcock got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee ended the match the England players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
