U21 Singapore's Prime Yi-Sheng started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the match, U21 Singapore's goal looked a bit too open when Che Vazquez came free, but Ronn Peng reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronn Peng showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Che Vazquez in the 2nd minute of the match. 4 minutes into the match, U21 Spain's Vladimiro Soler sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ronn Peng narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 6th minute of the match U21 Spain got a corner. U21 Singapore's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gaspar Vadillos ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Garci Cifuentes heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Ronn Peng showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vladimiro Soler in the 9th minute of the match. The throw-in from Daniz Lee in the 10th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by U21 Spain's Franco Gutierrez. A collision led to U21 Singapore getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Faizal Politiek hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vladimiro Soler in the 12th minute of play forced U21 Singapore's goalkeeper Ronn Peng to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of U21 Spain booed when U21 Singapore was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zafran Low didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, U21 Singapore's Daniz Lee got a free kick in the 28th minute. When César Maldini fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reyes No in the 90th minute of play forced U21 Singapore's goalkeeper Ronn Peng to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th minute Reyes No shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronn Peng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. U21 Singapore's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
