The Australia fans' excitement grew in the 5th match minute when Australia's Abe Rose looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Karel Prokůpek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abe Rose in the 16th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Abe Rose's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Karel Prokůpek was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. When the match clock showed 18 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Abe Rose sped through Czech Republic's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Karel Prokůpek. Karel Prokůpek came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Australia's Abe Rose. But to his dismay, Abe Rose quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Karel Prokůpek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abe Rose in the 27th minute of play. Australia were awarded a corner in the 28th minute after Czech Republic's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Belton Withy took the corner. Abe Rose's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Karel Prokůpek read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. Daavid Hill was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 33 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Australia fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 32nd minute. Penalty! Jarrett Rheistein kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Karel Tkadlec stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Arjen Lucassen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karel Tkadlec, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. On his own Braedan Block managed to get through Czech Republic's defense and was going for a shot in the net, but Karel Prokůpek lunged to the right and managed in the last second get hold of the ball before it was to late. If Jagger Tucknott had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Czech Republic's Miloš Bartůněk was substituted for Vlastimil Lysák. Czech Republic made a substitution. Jan Prchal replaced Karel Tkadlec. Czech Republic made a substitution. Radko Tesárek replaced Max Klas. Australia's Ed Norden was substituted for Braedan Block. The throw-in from Ralph Lunt in the 75th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Czech Republic's Hanuš Olšák. After a rather tough play, Australia's Lawrence Feutrill got a free kick in the 79th minute. When the match clock showed 85 minutes, the score became 1-4 when Jan Prchal sped through Australia's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Arjen Lucassen. The audience was convinced that Jan Prchal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arjen Lucassen was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. After 93 played minutes Czech Republic got a freekick which was hit by Pavel Kadeřábek.
