U21 India's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 South Africa the free kick. After a rather tough play, U21 India's Akila Gaikwad got a free kick in the 23rd minute. In the 24th minute Nicholas Mbule shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kacesvara Shankar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Natarajan Chahil notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of U21 South Africa's Tyrell Mumede. Tyrell Mumede was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Natarajan Chahil recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nicholas Mbule made a kick off. In the 53rd minute Justice Zwane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kacesvara Shankar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bhairavasin Samra in the 56th minute of play forced U21 South Africa's goalkeeper Tyrell Mumede to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, U21 India's Davindar Patel got a free kick in the 59th minute. But to his dismay, Nicholas Mbule quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Massem Rajput during the 80th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Massem Rajput hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Sibongile Thabang's late challenge caught a U21 India's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sibongile Thabang helped the player get up and apologised. In the 82nd minute, Sibongile Thabang hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Bhairavasin Samra in the 83rd minute really tested Tyrell Mumede's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Nicholas Mbule put it in 7-1 from a short distance just to the right of Kacesvara Shankar.
