Eusébio Henriques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Necip Beşer in the 10th minute of the match. U21 Portugal's Eusébio Henriques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beşir Akyol in the 11th minute of play. Ahmet Yahya Yücealp kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. U21 Portugal's Heitor Alves got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Beşir Akyol in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eusébio Henriques saved U21 Portugal from getting behind. In the 20th minute, Beşir Akyol ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eusébio Henriques was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. André Castro made in the 26th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by U21 Turkey's Behiç Ruhi. The U21 Turkey fans' excitement grew in the 27th match minute when U21 Turkey's Necip Beşer looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Beşir Akyol managed to get in a good position for a shot. U21 Turkey's supporters rose to their feet, but Beşir Akyol was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eusébio Henriques breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eusébio Henriques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Beşir Akyol in the 32nd minute of the match. 34 minutes into the match, U21 Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Beşir Akyol came free, but Eusébio Henriques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, U21 Turkey's Peter Schmeichel got control of the ball when Heitor Alves tried to sneak it across the goal line. Heitor Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beşir Akyol in the 45th minute of play forced U21 Portugal's goalkeeper Eusébio Henriques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Necip Beşer made a kick off. A collision led to U21 Turkey getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Necip Beşer hit a great ball. Beşir Akyol hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Eusébio Henriques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Necip Beşer in the 60th minute of play. U21 Portugal's Gonçalo Moutinho was substituted for André Castro. U21 Portugal made a substitution. Márcio Bombărăscu replaced Rui Nunes. U21 Turkey's Metin-Oktay Bal was substituted for Beşir Akyol. Armando Teixeira kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. U21 Portugal's Eusébio Henriques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmet Gündüz Askeroğlu in the 71st minute of play. If Metin-Oktay Bal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 84 played minutes U21 Turkey got a freekick which was hit by Mürsel Nuri. 84 minutes into the match, U21 Portugal's Heitor Alves broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Metin-Oktay Bal in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eusébio Henriques saved U21 Portugal from getting behind. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Turkey's goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 90 minutes into the match, Márcio Bombărăscu notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of U21 Turkey's Peter Schmeichel. Peter Schmeichel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Necip Beşer managed to get in a good position for a shot. U21 Turkey's supporters rose to their feet, but Necip Beşer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eusébio Henriques breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The U21 Portugal supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching U21 Turkey's performance. The match ended with a win for U21 Turkey.
