In the 6th minute, Mouricio Abello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the U21 Venezuela defense, Ricart Huergo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lekubegi Torquemada. The U21 Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lekubegi Torquemada should have stopped the shot. In the 14th match minute, U21 Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rama Seca to maneuver through the defense. 17 minutes into the game, one of U21 Venezuela:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. U21 Venezuela:s Lekubegi Torquemada showed great skill when he stopped Kakanda Large:s penalty. In the 21st minute, Eneto Moraza ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lekubegi Torquemada was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Ricart Huergo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Lekubegi Torquemada made a huge save. If Mouricio Abello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mouricio Abello might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julian Vuelta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mouricio Abello ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Venezuela's goalkeeper Lekubegi Torquemada, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eneto Moraza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lekubegi Torquemada having to interfere. Julian Vuelta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mouricio Abello in the 43rd minute of the match. In the 47th play minute Kakanda Large came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Lekubegi Torquemada. 3-0. U21 Peru's Aquiles Chumpitaz was substituted for Oliver Ramon. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mouricio Abello stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. U21 Peru's Eneto Moraza got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 64th minute, Ricart Huergo made a precise shot to the right of Lekubegi Torquemada. U21 Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. In the 66th minute, Paul Ramon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julian Vuelta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mouricio Abello, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. 67 minutes into the match, Mouricio Abello notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of U21 Peru's Julian Vuelta. Julian Vuelta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 74 minutes, Eneto Moraza mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Peru and the U21 Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eneto Moraza hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mouricio Abello in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julian Vuelta saved U21 Peru from getting behind. After 81 played minutes U21 Peru got a freekick which was hit by Aquiles Chumpitaz. U21 Peru made a substitution. Baumer Palomar replaced Eneto Moraza. Aquiles Chumpitaz kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Godofredo Artieta managed to get in a good position for a shot. U21 Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Godofredo Artieta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julian Vuelta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. U21 Peru made a substitution. Xicu Mariña replaced Ricart Huergo. After a rather tough play, U21 Peru's Juan Manuel Vargas got a free kick in the 99th minute. 100 minutes into the match, U21 Venezuela's Formerio Velis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julian Vuelta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. U21 Peru's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
