Polybos Kreskas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Selvin Huezo in the 3rd minute of play. Polybos Kreskas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Selvin Huezo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 5 minutes into the match, Akontios Giangos dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alexis Palma, 1-0. In the 14thth minute of the game Aktaion Melonakos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Honduras's Alexis Palma was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Akontios Giangos got free with Alexis Palma in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alexis Palma made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Akontios Giangos sent off a good shot on target. Polybos Kreskas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Barrera, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Akontios Giangos might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alexis Palma. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Akontios Giangos ran back to his position shaking his head. Akontios Giangos's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Alexis Palma firmly grabbed it by the left post. Alexis Palma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Akontios Giangos in the 27th minute of the match. Selvin Huezo hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Akontios Giangos's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 31stth minute, Alexis Palma skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 32 minutes into the match, Cyprus's goal looked a bit too open when Selvin Huezo came free, but Polybos Kreskas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Honduras were awarded a corner in the 34th minute after Cyprus's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Roberto Suarez took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Cyprus's goalie and right to Joselito Carranza. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Cyprus's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. With a little luck, Honduras's Alexis Palma got control of the ball when Akontios Giangos tried to sneak it across the goal line. Polybos Kreskas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antonio Barrera, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Cyprus's Polybos Kreskas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antonio Barrera in the 46th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Akontios Giangos in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alexis Palma prevented the ball from getting in the gole. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Selvin Huezo was the one to do the kick off. Alexis Palma stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Akontios Giangos's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. Cyprus's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dardanos Sklavenitis in the 52nd minute. A nice corner shot did that Argiris Papoutsis got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Alexis Palma quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 52 minutes into the match, Argiris Papoutsis notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Honduras's Alexis Palma. Alexis Palma was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Alexis Palma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aktaion Melonakos in the 54th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Cyprus's Kephalos Giouzelis got a free kick in the 56th minute. 4-0 became the score in the 58th minute when Aktaion Melonakos elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 63rd minute of the match Cyprus got a corner. Honduras's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Dardanos Sklavenitis ran over to the corner to take the kick. Cyprus's Dardanos Sklavenitis was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Alexis Palma in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Honduras's goalkeeper Alexis Palma, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Akontios Giangos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alexis Palma was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. Akontios Giangos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Akontios Giangos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Honduras's Claudio Sanchez was substituted for Selvin Huezo. Cyprus's Konstantinos Achaparos was substituted for Konstantinos Xirafis. Alexis Palma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aktaion Melonakos in the 82nd minute of the match. Alexis Palma took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sofoklis Panoulias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Honduras's Alexis Palma played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Epeios Banos in the 88th minute of play. In the 92nd minute, Joselito Muñoz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Many of Honduras's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Honduras may have spent more time on the ball, but Cyprus were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
