In the 13th minute, Christofere Pardons got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Yannik Eggermont came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the U21 Belgium fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yannik Eggermont couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christofere Pardons in the 22nd minute of play forced U21 Netherlands's goalkeeper Steven Harms to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, U21 Netherlands's Tommas Elsens threw himself towards the right post 23 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Edwin Fransen, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Yannik Eggermont recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as U21 Netherlands's Cameron Diaz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tommas Elsens. That made the score 2-0 after 38 minutes of play. Christofere Pardons sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edwin Fransen got free with Tommas Elsens in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edwin Fransen to strike the kick off in the second half. Hette Wagemakers made in the 56th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Gooitzen Valentijn. 62 minutes into the match, U21 Belgium's goal looked a bit too open when Heiko Beuk came free, but Tommas Elsens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th minute, Cameron Diaz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tommas Elsens was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. In the 67th minute, Cameron Diaz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Heiko Beuk came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the U21 Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Heiko Beuk couldn't finish the play. U21 Belgium's Yens Callens managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Gooitzen Valentijn in the 85 minute of the game. 88 minutes into the game, U21 Netherlands's Gooitzen Valentijn nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tommas Elsens made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. 93 minutes into the match, U21 Netherlands's goalkeeper Steven Harms had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Christofere Pardons.
