Bryce Fazey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Uthman Labib, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Tyler Boyd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th minute, Lebanon's Uthman Labib ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Bryce Fazey. Bryce Fazey yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Australia's Tyler Boyd got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Australia made a substitution.
