Augusto Mora showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mel Sargent, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. U21 El Salvador's Augusto Mora proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save U21 El Salvador from getting a goal against them. Augusto Mora was out of position in the 10 minute of play, and Guy Tinsley capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Guy Tinsley really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julio Ramirez in the 13th minute of play forced U21 United States's goalkeeper Cliff Pike to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Elberg Gota managed to get in a good position for a shot. U21 United States's supporters rose to their feet, but Elberg Gota was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Augusto Mora breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cliff Pike showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julio Ramirez in the 16th minute of the match. Armando Serrano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Guy Tinsley hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Cliff Pike showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julio Ramirez in the 19th minute of the match. In the 20th minute, one of U21 El Salvador:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for U21 El Salvador. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristopher Cates during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 27th minute Armando Berrueta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cliff Pike saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Guy Tinsley kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Augusto Mora. That made the score 2-0 in the 37 minute of play. In the 40th minute, Edgardo Sandoval hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Augusto Mora made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mel Sargent in the 41st minute of play. In the 43rd minute of the match, Guy Tinsley got a very nice opportunity to score, but Augusto Mora was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 44 minutes into the match, U21 El Salvador's Erick Medina sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cliff Pike narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The U21 United States fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. A collision led to U21 United States getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Elberg Gota hit a great ball. Augusto Mora made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elberg Gota in the 56th minute of play. Edgardo Sandoval hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Erick Orellana hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. After 84 played minutes U21 United States got a freekick which was hit by Charlie Deaton. 90 minutes into the game, Charlie Deaton cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Augusto Mora was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Augusto Mora showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Solomon Rosas in the 95th minute of the match. There was no doubt that U21 United States were the better team. U21 United States's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
