A sloppy throw-in by Ignacio Urtuuste in the 11th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Germany's Ralf Jürgens. Peru's Xefe Becerril played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ralek Heimhold in the 12th minute of play. In the 14th minute of the match Germany got a corner. Peru's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ture Werlberger ran over to the corner to take the kick. Xefe Becerril showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ralek Heimhold in the 19th minute of the match. Wolf-Rüdiger Anschütz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cefero Urquijo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cefero Urquijo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Wolf-Rüdiger Anschütz made a huge save. After 27 minutes, Cefero Urquijo made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Germany's Wolf-Rüdiger Anschütz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 32nd minute, Herbert Jonasson made a precise shot to the right of Xefe Becerril. Peru's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ralek Heimhold to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Peru's zone, Ralek Heimhold stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Xefe Becerril came out of the goal and Ralek Heimhold tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wolf-Rüdiger Anschütz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cefero Urquijo, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Cefero Urquijo might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wolf-Rüdiger Anschütz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cefero Urquijo ran back to his position shaking his head. Peru's Segio Rosado was substituted for Cordarrol Aguiriano. Peru made a substitution. Jeffrey Ramon replaced Cefero Urquijo. Filippo Guth made in the 67th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Thorben Kolberg. Knut Halfmann took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Xefe Becerril. Xefe Becerril dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Wolf-Rüdiger Anschütz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeffrey Ramon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 75th minute Jeffrey Ramon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wolf-Rüdiger Anschütz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aristides Ayaso in the 77th minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Wolf-Rüdiger Anschütz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 80th minute of the match Peru got a corner. Germany's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ignacio Urtuuste ran over to the corner to take the kick. Filippo Guth got a throw-in 85 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Thorben Kolberg. A throw-in in the 87th minute of the game was made by Filippo Guth with Knut Halfmann as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Tanio Tramarria hit a great ball. After 93 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Herbert Jonasson. When Peru's Jeffrey Ramon in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Germany's goalie prevented a goal. The Peru supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Germany's performance. The match ended with a win for Germany.
