Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) U21 Turkey's Şentürk Belen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tytus Dziatkowski in the 5th minute of play. With a little luck, U21 Poland's Teobald Swoboda got control of the ball when Rüştü Yetkin tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 8th minute, Sait Yaver hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ryszard Piatek in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Şentürk Belen saved U21 Turkey from getting behind. After a rather tough play, U21 Turkey's Rüştü Yetkin got a free kick in the 10th minute. In the 16th minute Tytus Dziatkowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Şentürk Belen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Tytus Dziatkowski had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Şentürk Belen. U21 Turkey's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tytus Dziatkowski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 19 minutes into the game, Rüştü Yetkin recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Teobald Swoboda. Rüştü Yetkin showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. 22 minutes into the match, U21 Turkey's goal looked a bit too open when Mieszko Zagrodny came free, but Şentürk Belen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mieszko Zagrodny in the 23rd minute of play forced U21 Turkey's goalkeeper Şentürk Belen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute Mieszko Zagrodny shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Şentürk Belen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Teobald Swoboda stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Esen Irgatbaşı's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Zülfü As's late challenge caught a U21 Poland's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zülfü As helped the player get up and apologised. 1-3 became the score in the 35th minute when Mieszko Zagrodny elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Şentürk Belen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafal Wojtkiewicz in the 41st minute of play. Şentürk Belen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dariusz Giertych, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ryszard Piatek in the 47th minute of play forced U21 Turkey's goalkeeper Şentürk Belen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The U21 Turkey players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. U21 Poland were winning 1-3.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mieszko Zagrodny was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute, Mieszko Zagrodny hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Rüştü Yetkin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Teobald Swoboda was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. In the 82nd minute Esen Irgatbaşı shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teobald Swoboda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Şentürk Belen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mieszko Zagrodny, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Fabiano Cannavaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Teobald Swoboda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 92 minutes into the match, U21 Turkey's goal looked a bit too open when Mieszko Zagrodny came free, but Şentürk Belen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The U21 Turkey fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. U21 Poland were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
