Luís Fernando Herrera thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Baldomero Varioz, a very annoying self made goal in the 9th minute which led to 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Colombia's zone, Bogdan Stavka stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baldomero Varioz came out of the goal and Bogdan Stavka tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 23 minutes into the match, Colombia's goalkeeper Baldomero Varioz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Oleg Maxymyuk. Baldomero Varioz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orest Sobko in the 28th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kaiet Caceres in the 31st minute of play forced Ukraine's goalkeeper Eduard Garas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Colombia's Baldomero Varioz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Colombia from getting a goal against them. Orest Sobko's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 36thth minute, Baldomero Varioz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 37 minutes into the match, Ukraine's goal looked a bit too open when Hibai Archuleta came free, but Eduard Garas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Orest Sobko got free with Baldomero Varioz in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Orest Sobko to make the kick off. After 50 played minutes Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Txanton Pabon. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orest Sobko in the 51st minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Baldomero Varioz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Kaiet Caceres came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Colombia fans jumped to their feet. Colombia's Baldomero Varioz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 58 minutes into the match, Orest Sobko had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Baldomero Varioz. Colombia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Orest Sobko was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Ukraine's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Viktor Sobetskyi in the 62nd minute. Baldomero Varioz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orest Sobko in the 64th minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Orest Sobko came free, but Baldomero Varioz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eduard Garas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Txanton Pabon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eduard Garas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Txanton Pabon, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Baldomero Varioz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orest Sobko in the 72nd minute of the match. Eduard Garas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kaiet Caceres in the 76th minute. Baldomero Varioz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Orest Sobko's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. With an all-out effort, Colombia's Eduard Garas threw himself towards the right post 82 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Hibai Archuleta, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 86 minutes into the match, Ukraine's goal looked a bit too open when Txanton Pabon came free, but Eduard Garas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Viktor Sobetskyi's late challenge caught a Colombia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Viktor Sobetskyi helped the player get up and apologised. In the 91st minute, Viktor Sobetskyi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Colombia's Daavid Luis was substituted for Benigno Tejeido. Colombia's Harriet Arce was substituted for Dorio Varaona. After a defensive mix-up in Ukraine's zone, Robi van Persie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eduard Garas came out of the goal and Robi van Persie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Orest Sobko in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Baldomero Varioz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. For all the effort they put into the match, the Colombia players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Ukraine.
