Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Leo Nell took the kick off in the first half of the match. Diego Barraza made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Edwar Aguirre sent off a good shot on target. Wilson Angulo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Ayala in the 10th minute of the match. After 18 minutes of play, Dominican Republic's Leo Nell made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Diego Barraza was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Dominican Republic's Romeo Fuentes got a free kick in the 20th minute. Fabio Costas kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Diego Barraza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Agilberto Villarreal in the 25th minute. After some careless play in the El Salvador defense, Leo Nell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Diego Barraza. The El Salvador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Diego Barraza should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard Ayala in the 32nd minute of play forced Dominican Republic's goalkeeper Wilson Angulo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wilson Angulo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Ayala in the 33rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Josue Molina in the 34th minute of play forced Dominican Republic's goalkeeper Wilson Angulo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 35 minutes, Josue Molina made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Dominican Republic's Wilson Angulo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 47 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Josue Molina. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Josue Molina was the one to do the kick off. Diego Barraza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edwar Aguirre in the 52nd minute of play. In the 52nd minute, Edwar Aguirre ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Diego Barraza was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Edwar Aguirre struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Diego Barraza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dominican Republic. In the 57th match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Richard Lara to maneuver through the defense. Diego Barraza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leo Nell in the 59th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Leo Nell put it in 4-1 from a short distance just to the right of Diego Barraza. Richard Ayala's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Wilson Angulo firmly grabbed it by the left post. Wilson Angulo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard Ayala in the 77th minute of play. After 80 minutes, Richard Ayala mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Salvador and the Dominican Republic players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dominican Republic's Pepe Alkorta was substituted for Julián Núñez. Diego Barraza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leo Nell, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. When the match clock showed 84 minutes, the score became 5-1 when Agilberto Villarreal sped through El Salvador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Diego Barraza. Wilson Angulo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard Ayala in the 87th minute of play. El Salvador's Richard Ayala saw an opening behind the goalie Wilson Angulo in the 87thth minute and tried to shoot past into the top right corner, but with great reflexes Wilson Angulo with one arm managed to save the shot in the last secound. Diego Barraza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edwar Aguirre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 93rd minute Shawn Hurtado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Angulo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edwar Aguirre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dominican Republic walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
