Turkey were awarded a corner in the 11th minute after Lithuania's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Koray Özbilge took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Koray Özbilge got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Vilmantas Zuoza quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Saulius Voveris recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 21 minutes into the match, Lithuania's goal looked a bit too open when Rıza Haymanalı came free, but Vilmantas Zuoza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by Lithuania's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Koray Özbilge was slow to take the kick. During this time Turkey's players had a chance to rest. 27 minutes into the match, Lithuania's goal looked a bit too open when Aşık Ceberut came free, but Vilmantas Zuoza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Alvydas Daukantas could shoot a difficult shot in the 33rd minute, which Igor Akinfeev however easily saved by the left post. 34 minutes into the match, Turkey's Feridun Şerif sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vilmantas Zuoza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alvydas Daukantas in the 36thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Igor Akinfeev, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Alvydas Daukantass short, quick shot in the 36thth minute got Igor Akinfeev to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Alvydas Daukantas's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Igor Akinfeev firmly grabbed it by the left post. After 38 minutes Turkey's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Darius Klimavičius who took care of the corner kick. Vilmantas Zuoza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hakkı Kenan Çoğun in the 45th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Feridun Şerif made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aşık Ceberut got free with Vilmantas Zuoza in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Igor Akinfeev stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alvydas Daukantas's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. The Lithuania fans' excitement grew in the 58th match minute when Lithuania's Alvydas Daukantas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Lithuania's Vilmantas Zuoza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Feridun Şerif in the 78th minute of play. Rıza Haymanalı received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Vilmantas Zuoza came out and tried to block the shot, but Rıza Haymanalı slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 80th minute. Aşık Ceberut could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Vilmantas Zuoza made a huge save. Lithuania's Vilmantas Zuoza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hakkı Kenan Çoğun in the 90th minute of play. The Turkey players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Lithuania from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
