The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Trinidad & Tobago's zone, Augustinas Gavorskis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Charles Brown came out of the goal and Augustinas Gavorskis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Trinidad & Tobago defense, Augustinas Gavorskis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Charles Brown. The Trinidad & Tobago fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Charles Brown should have stopped the shot. 39 minutes into the match, Augustinas Gavorskis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Charles Brown. Trinidad & Tobago's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Augustinas Gavorskis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Charles Brown came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Lithuania's Augustinas Gavorskis. But to his dismay, Augustinas Gavorskis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. With a little luck, Trinidad & Tobago's Charles Brown got control of the ball when Augustinas Gavorskis tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Lithuania booed when Trinidad & Tobago was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bunji Jagdeosingh didn't get a good kick on the ball. Charles Brown made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augustinas Gavorskis in the 48th minute of play.

Trinidad & Tobago's Winifred Alleyne managed to work through Lithuania's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Winifred Alleyne dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. In the 79th minute, Augustinas Gavorskis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Charles Brown was frozen by the shot and now it was 9-0. Lester Hamel-Smith sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lithuania made a substitution. Eligijus Abakevičius replaced Rimas Ciparis. Lithuania's Vygantas Vyšniauskas was substituted for Vygantas Petrošius. 86 minutes into the match, Lithuania's Zigmantas Gimbutas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Charles Brown narrowly saved just below the crossbar. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
