The audience was convinced that Benjamín Escalante's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cesaro Santelices was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. El Salvador made a substitution. Saul Arellano replaced Mariano Lozano. After 64 minutes Paraguay's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Omar Larios who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Omar Larios almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Paraguay's Cesaro Santelices did a great save. It was a well-played corner which Efraim Larrauri managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Paraguay's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
