Jay Titmuss made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Önder Dafni in the 9th minute of play. 15 minutes had been played when some careless play by U21 Luxembourg's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ahmet Hafiz Turabi was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Turkey's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Halil Can Mensur almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but U21 Luxembourg's Jay Titmuss did a great save. The supporters of U21 Luxembourg booed when U21 Turkey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Batu Cem Dinç didn't get a good kick on the ball. Önder Dafni succeeded in the game's 20th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. U21 Turkey's Hüseyin Rahmi Çetinay proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Turkey from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kaptan Uzay in the 32nd minute of play forced U21 Luxembourg's goalkeeper Jay Titmuss to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd minute Kaptan Uzay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jay Titmuss saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 35th minute, Romário Eterović got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Kaptan Uzay's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jay Titmuss was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. In the 40th minute, Kaptan Uzay made a precise shot to the right of Jay Titmuss. U21 Luxembourg's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Jay Titmuss showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Önder Dafni, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The U21 Luxembourg players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. U21 Turkey were winning 0-2.

U21 Turkey made a substitution. Anıl Ozan Direm replaced Arif Nihat Derelioğlu. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Önder Dafni to make the kick off. Jay Titmuss took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Önder Dafni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Önder Dafni in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jay Titmuss prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 65th minute, U21 Turkey's Önder Dafni ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jay Titmuss. Jay Titmuss yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. In a very dangerous position, a player in U21 Luxembourg fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 69th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 72 minutes, U21 Turkey's Ahmet Hafiz Turabi got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Jay Titmuss. Önder Dafni recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 78th play minutes Önder Dafni shot 0-6, a short shot which went by Jay Titmuss and just under the crossbar into goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Önder Dafni in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jay Titmuss prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hüseyin Rahmi Çetinay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Haley in the 81st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Önder Dafni in the 82nd minute of play forced U21 Luxembourg's goalkeeper Jay Titmuss to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. U21 Turkey's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ahmet Hafiz Turabi in the 84th minute. 85 minutes into the match, U21 Luxembourg's goal looked a bit too open when Önder Dafni came free, but Jay Titmuss reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jay Titmuss made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Önder Dafni sent off a good shot on target. After 87 minutes of play, U21 Turkey's Önder Dafni made it 0-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jay Titmuss was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 91stth minute of the game Enes Kafadar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Luxembourg's Jay Titmuss was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Anıl Ozan Direm came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the U21 Turkey fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anıl Ozan Direm couldn't finish the play. In the 102nd minute, U21 Turkey's Anıl Ozan Direm ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jay Titmuss. Jay Titmuss yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-9.
