An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardo Brower in the 17th minute of play forced Russia's goalkeeper Oleg Shingarov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Von Ramirez took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Oleg Shingarov. Oleg Shingarov dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Aldo Andrade made in the 22nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Russia's Rustam Kalinin. After having played for 23 minutes, Vsevolod Bobrov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Russia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vsevolod Bobrov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 25 minutes into the match, Russia's goal looked a bit too open when Bernardo Brower came free, but Oleg Shingarov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27thth minute of the game Egor Byshovets who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but USA's Ronald Small was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Russia defense, Bernardo Brower kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oleg Shingarov. Ronald Small tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, USA's goal looked a bit too open when Vladislav Tikhonov came free, but Ronald Small reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. USA's Ronald Small played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lev Smolin in the 40th minute of play. Oleg Shingarov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernardo Brower in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 43rd minute of the match USA got a corner. Russia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Milan Vinson ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 45 played minutes USA got a freekick which was hit by Arturo Brewer.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Von Ramirez to make the kick off. Egor Byshovets recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 55 minutes Russia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Milan Vinson who took care of the corner kick. USA's Milan Vinson was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Oleg Shingarov in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 61st minute of the match USA got a corner. Russia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Milan Vinson ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Myles Randall almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Russia's Oleg Shingarov did a great save. Myles Randall did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-3 to the left of a surprised Oleg Shingarov 61 minutes into the match. Ronald Small showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Egor Byshovets, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Oleg Shingarov didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bernardo Brower went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lev Smolin in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ronald Small saved USA from getting behind. When Russia's Lev Smolin in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye USA's goalie prevented a goal. Russia's attentive Felix Chernomazov managed to snatch the ball when Aldo Andrade made a throw-in in the 87th minute of the game. 89 minutes into the match, Russia's goal looked a bit too open when Cody Arnold came free, but Oleg Shingarov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oleg Shingarov made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Willie Felder sent off a good shot on target. Ronald Small made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lev Smolin in the 95th minute of play.
