József Pálosi kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Liudvikas Bajoriūnas struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Šandor Szabo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lithuania. Lithuania's Vilmantas Zuoza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by József Pálosi in the 9th minute of play. Šandor Szabo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mantvydas Motiejūnas in the 10th minute of play. In the 17th minute Vidmantas Minkevičius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Šandor Szabo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vilmantas Zuoza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from József Pálosi in the 18th minute of play. Vilmantas Zuoza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emil Zsinka, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by Lithuania's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Bertold Ács was slow to take the kick. During this time Hungary's players had a chance to rest. Bertold Ács made a great header on Hungary's corner, it was just that Lithuania's Vilmantas Zuoza managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 26th minute Emil Zsinka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vilmantas Zuoza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vilmantas Zuoza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from József Pálosi in the 30th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Lithuania's Vidmantas Minkevičius got a free kick in the 30th minute. Vilmantas Zuoza stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emil Zsinka's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. In the 35th minute Hungary were awarded a corner. Bertold Ács went to the cornerflag to take it. Hungary's József Pálosi was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Vilmantas Zuoza in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by András Medgyesi in the 36th minute of play forced Lithuania's goalkeeper Vilmantas Zuoza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Šandor Szabo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mantvydas Motiejūnas in the 37th minute of the match. Astijus Dargvainis's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 38thth minute, Šandor Szabo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 40 minutes into the match, Lithuania's goal looked a bit too open when József Pálosi came free, but Vilmantas Zuoza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vilmantas Zuoza came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Hungary's Emil Zsinka. But to his dismay, Emil Zsinka quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by József Pálosi in the 45th minute of play forced Lithuania's goalkeeper Vilmantas Zuoza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Lithuania made a substitution. Dominykas Alijošius replaced Albinas Kundrotas. József Pálosi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vilmantas Zuoza having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Lithuania's Astijus Dargvainis got a free kick in the 55th minute. Vilmantas Zuoza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from József Pálosi in the 56th minute of the match. Hungary's Šandor Szabo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mantvydas Motiejūnas in the 58th minute of play. In the 62nd minute, Ferdinánd Havass hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lithuania made a substitution. Remigijus Mineikis replaced Mantvydas Motiejūnas. After 63 played minutes Hungary got a freekick which was hit by Ferdinánd Havass. Vilmantas Zuoza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from József Pálosi in the 65th minute of play. 66 minutes into the match, Emil Zsinka dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Vilmantas Zuoza, 0-3. In the 70th minute József Pálosi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vilmantas Zuoza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. At last the ball reached Saulius Voveris at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Hungary. 1-3. Vilmantas Zuoza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Valentin Szűcs in the 80th minute. József Pálosi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vilmantas Zuoza having to interfere. Vilmantas Zuoza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valentin Szűcs in the 85th minute of play. Vilmantas Zuoza didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Márk Horváth went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Hungary had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
